Bolthole Retreats was founded in 2017 by Martin McWilliam and is based in Cheltenham. We are the leading independent agency for Cotswold holiday rental properties. We work closely with owners and housekeepers to ensure that guests have a truly memorable stay. We pride ourselves on our local knowledge, whether it be of a local farm shop, cycle routes or events. Our aim is to enable guests to have the opportunity to enjoy authentic Cotswold experiences, from the Cotswold experts, in a lovely Cotswold property that suits their needs.

Kingfisher Cottage is a delightful, five-bedroom, five-bathroom, modern country residence that’s perfect for multi-generational stays, comfortably sleeping 10 guests. This spacious holiday home overlooks open countryside and has a fabulous garden that backs onto the River Isbourne, with plenty of space to dine and relax outside. There’s lots of room to entertain all ages, including a large kitchen and breakfast room, a living room, and a superb conservatory with a dining area and a snooker table and the ground floor bedroom and wet room is equipped for disabled guests. Kingfisher has private, driveway parking for up to five cars. Sitting on the Cotswold Way and at the edge of Winchcombe, Kingfisher Cottage is within easy walking distance of all the town’s fabulous amenities, including Sudeley Castle & Gardens. The cottage has a wonderful garden and the owners' love of gardening is immediately obvious as it is planted with a huge array of flowering annuals, perennials and bushes, as well as having mature trees, a delightful flower-covered pergola and a lovely expanse of lawn. Please note that additional guests above the maximum capacity are not permitted. It is the policy of this property not to take bookings for groups where the majority of guests are under the age of 25, or single-sex group celebrations, including stag/hen parties.

With the market town of Winchcombe just 250 yards from the front door, you’re spoiled for choice when it comes to boutiques, bakeries, pubs, and restaurants within walking distance, plus it’s a starting point of five Cotswold walks, including the Cotswold Way, the Windrush Way and the Sudeley Valley Walk. Driving is the best way to explore Winchcombe’s surrounding towns and villages, but the location of Kingfisher Cottage means it’s by no means an absolute necessity, with a host of amenities within easy walking distance, including Sudeley Castle & Gardens. For those arriving by train, Cheltenham Spa (9 miles) or Evesham (11 miles) are your nearest major station and are well-served with direct routes to London, Birmingham and Bristol, situated 25 minutes from the cottage.
