The space The Hay Loft, is a Grade II listed, 16th Century townhouse, titled with the most narrow frontage in Canterbury! We are just a stone's throw from the historic and vibrant city centre, and within 5 minutes walking distance of Canterbury West Rail Station. Our house is ideal for anyone looking for a cozy and stylish place to stay with character and convenience. You will have access to the entire house, which is set out on three levels. The entrance hall leads up to a modern kitchen, furnished with the usual modern amenities, as well as some larder basics. The living room includes a dining table, sofa and television. The second floor bedroom boasts a comfortable double bed. The bathroom hosts a luxurious roll top bath (with shower) and a loo with a view! The second floor terrace is perfect for an alfresco breakfast or sunlit evening drinks. Please note the property is being refurbished for summer 2021 and there may be some changes to the living area pictured.

St. Dunstans is a truly independent part of Canterbury. Just a stones throw from the Westgate Tower, the area comprises a host of independent businesses including; 2 authentic English pubs, 2 late night modern bars, 2 bakeries, a handful of upmarket restaurants, including a very popular Mexican restaurant. St Dunstans is also home to a large farmers market, converted from a 100 year old train station. The area also has a grocers, a small 24 hour supermarket and a dry cleaners. The beautiful Westgate gardens are just a 2 minute walk away, perfect retreat from the thriving city centre. Canterbury Cathedral - one of the most beautiful ancient buildings in the UK and the 'must see' world-heritage site in Canterbury. Daily guided tours can be booked in several languages. St Augustine's Abbey - one of the most important monasteries in medieval England. St Martin's Church - the oldest English speaking church in the world. River tours along the River Stour - from March to October visitors can take a guided river tour on board a punt or small boat. The nearest punting company is just a few minutes' walk from the cottage. The Marlowe Theatre - one of the UK's leading theatre venues - just a few minutes' stroll from the cottage. Greyfriars Garden and Chapel - a few minutes' stroll from the cottage. Westgate Tower and Gardens - a wonderful place to take a walk at any time of the year. Running between Canterbury and Chartham and only a few minutes' walk from the cottage, is the Great Stour Way. Enjoy walking or cycling the tranquil three-mile long traffic-free route along the banks of the River Stour. Further afield, you can explore the beautiful Kent coast. The wonderful little fishing town of Whitstable is only 30 minutes' drive away - don't miss the annual oyster festival at the end of July. The Victorian seaside town of Herne Bay is also within easy driving distance.
