A short walk you will find the stunning French Renaissance Bowes Museum, and all the delightful cafes, restaurants nearby and all the central main shops on the cobbled marketplace. We are located on or near to the C2C, Teesdale Way and Pennine Way. The Teesdale area is delightful for hikes, Charles Dickens tours, driving and motorcycling, fishing and just being in Barnard Castle. Nicely equipped and recently traditionally decorated with a new gas heating system we are sure you will feel at home. Plus, with its grade 2 listed status, you'll be staying in a piece of 250 year history. We look forward to hosting you! Parking is free on the road outside (The Bank) and nearby and an option is the council long-stay paid-for car park on Queen Street (Hole in the Wall). There are stairs to access all floors and the small bathroom is located on the first level. Access is via a lockbox - PIN and directions will be sent to you on the day of arrival -

This is 'The Bank' in Barnard Castle, 'The Bank' is the road into Barnard Castle from the west, at the bottom you will find the County Bridge and the river Tees, and at the top the old stone Butter Market building. Traditionally, many antique dealers have shops here and a couple of pubs and restaurants. A friendly community of people live in the lovely Georgian houses along with shops, bars and restaurants. A few minutes walk you are on the cobbled marketplace of Barnard Castle. Walk down one of the three alleyways to the river or straight down the hill to a footbridge across the river with walks in both directions. Staying on 'The Bank' is within central walking distance for everything in Barnard Castle.
