The whole stay with Ellis at Green Zion was magical – the rooms he has built are beautiful, his home-cooked vegetarian breakfasts and dinners are brilliant, and the bar on the beach with geckos on the ceiling was a perfect place to stare out to sea. We loved the entire ethos of how Ellis is building his paradise with ecology, creativity and hospitality in mind. We were originally planning to stay for one night and move on, but we cancelled our next booking and stayed three nights. This was our favourite place we stayed in Ghana, and we hope to come back. Green Zion garden is an incredible place to stay - the rooms are comfortable and colourful, with a path directly to the beach which is clean and beautiful to swim in. The host Ellis could not have been more amazing - he’s a fantastic cook, great conversation and works tirelessly to keep the beach clean and look after his guests

Green Zion Garden is a wonderful place. It's a 5 minute walk from the small fishing village of Butre, reachable via a wooden bridge. We found that the location strikes the perfect balance: It feels secluded without being totally isolated. The beach is simply gorgeous, so is the garden. The owner, Ellis, is the true star though. He built a little shack right above the beach front where he serves home-cooked food and drinks (we loved just to hang out there all day) You can feel the personal energy he puts into his work and that's what really sets this place apart from many other, more "resorty" accomodation along the coast.

The host Ellis is a really friendly and relaxed guy. Right spirit and very helpful. Butre is a place with still limited tourism so very authentic. In Green Zion you just can take drinks and write them in a book. At the end of your stay the bill can be made. Room was spacious and clean and in African style. Nice calm background music. Mix of psychedelic and pure relax music. Great ! The garden and nature gives something extra. Would love to go back.

Die Lage abseits des Lärms und Mülls von Busua. Sehr schöner Garten und Strand. Das Dorf Butre an der Flussmündung. Ellis fährt auch Taxi, wenn man mal irgendwo hin will. Er macht auch preiswertes, gutes Frühstück und alle anderen Mahlzeiten oder im Hide Out schmeckt es auch und ist preiswert. Man kann die 4km nach Busua laufen. Dort war es uns aber zu " touristisch".

De host Ellis is super behulpzaam en vriendelijk. Mijn huisje was gezellig en proper en vlakbij het strand en de strandbar gelegen. Er zijn ook andere leuke bars en restaurants in de buurt.

We loved the quiet beach, the smoothies and breakfast. The beach hut was a great chill spot during the day. We had a spacious room with mosquito nets and very comfortable beds. Ellis was also a beautiful soul, hilarious and welcoming!
