On one hand Aloegrove is a lodge with a spectacular view, and spacious bungalows with huge comfort and well equipped, on top bathtubs overviewing the plains, on the other hand it feels really private and comfortable. Ivy & Johann, the owners, are present quietly in the background to make one's stay unforgettable, and if one wishes, their hospitality is generously shared.

The views and the very friendly staff . it felt like a very authentic Namibian experience

Great game drive with Ivy and Johan. Saw cheetah, leopard and lion they keep in large compounds, as well as other animals on their land. Dinner was excellent. Views spectacular. Comfortable, spacious luxury room with a great view.

Great location, view. Wonderful tour in evening to see the lion, cheetah, leopard in there wide (fenced) areas and the animals in the free area. Great hosts & excellent dinner!. The rooms were just stunning!

Absolutely loved our stay here! We only stayed for one night but it was perfect. Loved our self catering unit. Everything was well thought off from mosquito screens to cooking appliances and a beautiful bathroom. My favourite bit was touring the reserve and meeting the big cats!! My husband went for a run in the early morning and spotted giraffes. How cool! It's so lovely to see how much the owners care about the animals and the work that they are doing! I would definitely stay here again and recommended this place to others we met on our trip. And to the folks complaining about the gravel roads to get to the property, they must not have gone South! Their driveway is by far one of the best gravel roads you'll come across.

Very spacious rooms/cabins, best food on the trip (for dinner and breakfast); the whole area is very fascinating, all maintained by the family - and they are extremely nice; a must experience with the wild cat drive.

The food was excellent and the drive to see the cats as well.

The property is situated on top of a hill with the most amazing views. The cottages look over this view completely unobstructed. The experience overall is just unique and highly recommended. The personal service from the hosts and great food! We only stayed for 1 night but it should have been at least 2 or 3 or.. :)

Friendly and heartwarming reception by hosts Johan and Ivy.Beautiful views over the Waterberge. Neat and comfortable accommodation

Incredible view over the Aloegrove plains from the lodge combined with hospitality of family run farm. One of the best ways to explore Namibia.

- I'm interested in coming to N to visit the traditional tribes like the himba and couldn't find a good tour so decided to do it alone. Is it possible to travel to your hotel from Groonfontein by bus /train? Also I'd like to visit Otjikandero Himba Village Does your hotel offer transport ? car etc?Hi The Himbas is up north - you can search Himba in Namibia and you will find so many guests replying and giving tips where to go - Palmwag, Twyfelfontein, etc. We do not have trains or busses coming out to the farm - we could pic you up from town.Answered on 15 November 2021
