The cross-country trails start right next to the cabin and the ski bus brings you directly to Geilo's many ski lifts. In the summer, Øen hytta and Geilo are an excellent starting point for trips in magnificent natural surroundings or for day trips that combine experiences of both mountains and fjords. Good fishing opportunities in Ustedalsfjorden and Hallingdalselva. The cabin is located at Øen Turistsenter, approx. 2.5 km east of the center of Geilo. In the main building there is the reception and cafe. The cafe is open in the summer. Geilo is one of Norway's best ski destinations and perfect for families. Here you will find slopes for all levels and 4 terrain parks. In total there are 21 lifts with 39 descents. There are over 500 km of groomed cross-country trails. You will find these both on the high mountains and down in the valley. Great light trail at Geilohallen. You will find the cross-country trails in the immediate vicinity of the cabin. There are also many other activities at Geilo in summer and winter. Some of what Geilo can offer are toboggan runs, dog sledding, snowshoeing, sleigh rides and snowmobile safaris.
