Welcome to my little piece of history! My home was built in 1852 and played a role in our Nation's history. In 1861, the family left the home, likely filled with fear about the uncertainty of our Civil War. Previous owners passed down a store that it was the Union HQ, but that was disproved by a local prominent historian. Also rumored that it was a part of the Underground Railroad. Also disappointed to learn that was also untrue. Regardless of this, the home is 170 years old. It was renovated in 1989 into the B&B we have today. All rooms are decorated in a Victorian-era style, each one unique, and they all have their own private bath. Additionally, there's no lack of comfort. The beds are all super comfortable, soft sheets, plenty of towels and clean. Property is close to other attractions and just a neat place overall.

I'm a Mom, a Grandma and Entrepreneur. My favorite hobby is cooking, so no surprise that I opened a Cafe up at my B&B. The pandemic forced the closure, but we re-opened it May '21. After a year in, it's holding its own. I enjoyed the years I worked for the previous owners as their Innkeeper and Cook. So, when the opportunity presented itself to buy, I couldn't get to the bank fast enough! I enjoy meeting others and hosting special events. When I was much younger, my Mom had noticed that I had a knack for entertaining and making people feel at ease. She wasn't wrong! Today, I describe it as, "This is what makes my heart sing." I love my little piece of history and enjoy sharing it. While I'm more of a homebody myself, the property is very close to many different attractions in the area and recognize that the hospitality, food quality and location are all things that hotel chains can't come close to. If you're looking for a place to stay that offers a quiet and comfortable surroundings, then my "Historic home away from home" is the right place for you.

Home is close to Glasgow square where folks can find some unique shops, including the Plaza Theater and the Historical Center. Guests most frequently comment about how quiet the town gets after 5pm and we definitely are small town America. Additionally, close to several restaurants, a GastroPub and even a grocery store if you feel like cooking. Mammoth Cave is a short 30 minute drive, Barren River Lake is just under 20 minutes and Dinosaur World is a treat for the whole family (especially those that love dinosaurs).
