The East Lakeview area is famous for being the highest density area of the city and it shows with the numerous places to eat, drink and shop. Virtually everything is walkable, so you won't need a car. If you want to go downtown, just jump on the Lakeshore Drive bus (2 blocks east on Belmont) or take the Red Line train (6 blocks west on Belmont). East Lakeview is also home to Chicago's renown Boys Town; a world famous gay area with clubs and other attractions. The Red Line train to downtown is walking distance. There are several bus stops within 1 block away that can take you downtown or west to neighborhoods like Roscoe Village, Lincoln Square and Bucktown. You can also walk to downtown along the lakefront; it's not that far. On your way, you'll run into Lincoln Park Conservatory with a greenhouse full of exotic plants (free admission) and then Lincoln Park Zoo (also free admission). Walk north on Clark Street (4 blocks away) and you'll bump into Wrigley Field and the surrounding nightlife there.
