A unique contemporary renovated cottage in a beautiful house built in 1920 on the mountainside near Kalkbay harbour. The Style and fittings is what makes this cottage special . The apartment is below the main house and has a private entrance and garden. Parking is on the street, with two bays available in the cul du Sac. The private entrance takes you to the patio for the main room on the right and the walk way that takes you to the front entrance on the side of the property. The cottage is underneath the main house. The entrance leads onto the sitting room with a wood fire place and gas heater. To the right is the main room with doors leading to its Patio. To the left is the open plan dinning room and basic kitchen. Please note there is no oven. The kitchen leads to the second room with a king or Twin bed option. This room also leads to the back back patio with wind protected seating and lovely mountain views. From the lounge to the back is the bathroom and cupboard space. Please bring your own wood or charcoal.
in 2010 I started my journey in the South Peninsula managing Chartfield Guest House in Kalk Bay. This is where I was trained under the watchful Swiss German eye of Florian Blochliger. He taught me everything I know and we became business partners in the take over of Castle Hill Guesthouse. I managed this four star gem for six years until we sold the business to the new owners. With the vision of embarking on my own and working with more flexibility I opened In Good Company with my partner at the time. We managed self catering Holiday lets from Muizenberg to Noordhoek and Kalk Bay. After raising my son for two years the business found its foundations back in Kalk Bay where I manage upt0 six properties. I also manage a Hotel in Simons Town in the mornings. I enjoy my work and love to show off what the South Peninsula has to offer.
Kalk Bay is hip, unpretentious, a little bit bohemian and easy-going. Behr road has the advantage of being just past the harbour , affording peace from the hustle and bustle of the busy season. Behr road is just above Woolies tidal pool for a quick morning dip. It is a perfect holiday destination or weekend getaway. The village is interesting, and the fishing harbour is always busy with colourful boats coming and going. Fresh fish can be bought. The local flair is very evident in Kalk Bay, especially when the fishing boats come back into harbour with lots of fresh fish on board. Immerse yourself in Kalk Bay’s vibe and enjoy many of the adventures, or just stay put and relax.
