Huis Kandelabra is late 1800th century farmhouse in the Karoo valley of Kandelaarsrivier, on the Coetzee Family’s fourth-generation fully operational ostrich farm. Huis Kandelabra is lovingly restored with its original clay walls and reed ceilings still intact. ‘Kandelabra’ comes from the name given to the late harvest of wine produced on this farm by generations past.

Huis Kandelabra is nestled between the koppies of the beautiful, serene karoo valley of Kandelaarsrivier which is 10 minute’s drive from Oudtshoorn en route to Mossel Bay. The surroundings of karoo koppies, the Kandelaars River, neighbouring lucerne farmlands, private hiking and biking trails through the Coetzee family’s ostrich camps across the road all add to this quaint yet stylish cottage’s unmistakable charm. The Outeniqua and the Swartberg Mountain Range can both be witnessed from Kandelaarsrivier with the world-renowned Swartberg Pass and Cango Caves is 45 minute’s drive away.
