Exclusively, this home sits in the Welgevonden Game Reserve where no private day visitors are allowed. Overlooking a cliff, lit at night you are mesmerised by the Baboons who navigate the daily climb up to forage for food and return at night to sleep in the caves provided by nature, this in itself is a unique experience. Not to worry, the property is surrounded by game fencing and a small river which divides you from them, so no intrusion! The home is serviced daily by a beautiful soul and your own private game ranger lives on the property who is always happy to impart his knowledge of the animals, trees, birds etc. on the reserve. Two game drives per day and you are bound to see so much with spectacular views, sunsets and sun rises. The home has a fully equipped kitchen to include a ice maker - most gratifying on a hot day to cool your drinks, a freezer plus lots of fridge space. A Sunken lounge with a fireplace, a writing area and TV lounge. The TV works subject to signal and the whole property is run on solar power and generator when needed. The front of the house is fitted with concertina doors which open up giving an indoor - out door experience. The dining table is unique and a great surprise! There is a built in braai/BBQ and gas braai/BBQ on the terrace plus boma to relax around the fire with your favourite drink and have chats about the day - a truly African experience. Each bedroom has its own patio and fireplace and if you want, open the shower doors to give you the outdoor feeling or sink into the bath and reflect on your beautiful day. Welgevonden Game Reserve is a 34,850ha game reserve in the Waterberg District of the Limpopo Province. It forms part of the Waterberg Biosphere Reserve which was officially declared by UNESCO in 2001. This reserve has the Big Five, no malaria and the water is potable. The reserve offers traversing rights to all, which means one can drive for kilometres and never see a vehicle. SAFETY ON THE RESERVE: The reserve is highly regulated, and management imposes big penalties or fines when these are contravened. There is strict protocol with regards game viewing, driving ‘off piste’ and getting off the land cruiser when you’re in the veld. The number of passengers on the vehicle is limited to 10 at a time. Areas of concern are those of physical safety and preservation of the environment. Draconian as the regulations can seem, please take them seriously. Please follow Simon’s instructions, as he is up to date about animal patterns on the reserve and knows how to deal with unpredictable behaviour that needs quick response. Human error and the unpredictable temperament of wild animals can end badly. It is not possible to go on walks without an armed ranger. (Simon doesn’t have a weapon). Guests are required to sign indemnity on booking confirmation All safety and back up measures are in place on the lodge. These include satellite phone, radio contact, back-up generator, borehole. The electric fence around the perimeter of the lodge is always on. There is a copy of the Welgevonden Reserve regulations at the lodge
