Had an awesome experience at Batu Katak Jungle River! Herman and his wife are both very friendly and accommodating. I did two jungle treks with Herman and we saw lots of wildlife as well as the Arun Titanum Flower in bloom. He is a great guide with heaps of knowledge about the local flora and fauna. You can feel his passion for nature when he's talking. His wife also cooked the best food that I've had in Indonesia so far. Will definitely come back for a longer stay!

Really loved the large room with the large private bathroom in the hut. They have fans as well and there is a level of privacy you can enjoy here in the jungle. The food is really delicious and I also recommend the jungle treks you can book with Putra, bound to see oragutans and other amazing wildlife. Also, the river close to this property is very refreshing, I have really enjoyed it. Putra and his family will take really good care of you!

We were so happy and relaxed at Harus Damai which is right on the beach front and 8 steps from our room into the water. The staff were excellent and treated us more as family than guests. Food was always fresh and delicious. Fishermen pulled right up to Harus Damai with their catch- we requested seafood every night. One night we asked for lobster for dinner-so good. Toris organised drivers for us to villages, massage and best of all a trip in the bay on a fisherman’s canoe. Some surfers staying there enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere more than in Sorake. The view from the restaurant looks out across the bay and we could watch the beginners and experienced surfers. Surfing lessons are available and at times yoga lessons are offered. Perfect for everyone of every age - children through young backpackers and surfers to us who aren’t so young but made us feel like we were young backpackers again. Coconut water straight from the tree. It’s not a resort and doesn’t want to be.

Absolute Empfehlung! Man hat einen atemberaubenden Blick auf den See von dem Bungalow und dem Café. Das Essen ist durchweg super lecker und frisch zubereitet. Das Gado Gado war das beste was ich je hatte. Die Besitzerin und ihre Familie sind äußerst freundlich und erfüllen einem jeden Wunsch. Fahrräder (Mountainbike) kann man Ausleihen keine fünf Gehminuten von hier. Ich würde hier jederzeit wiederkommen!

Stunning location. Good architecturial garden and housing. Rivaldi and Herwin are there for you when u need anything and their service is great. Breakfast is simple but changes everyday and that is very good. Quality of the breakfast is also good. We really liked the housing and the peacefull surrounding. Just outside the city, which is a big plus! Airconditioning, hot water, balcony...beautiful!

MB Camp Singkil has a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and restaurant in Gosongtelaga.

Lovely located at the river, about 20 minutes drive outside Singkil, MB Camp is the ideal stay on your way to (or back from) the Banyak Islands. It has the same owner as the beautiful MB Palambak Island Resort, so if this is your next destination then it has even more advantages to stay here: there's a direct speedboat connection between the both. But if you decide to go by regular ferry staff at MB Camp can arrange a transfer to Singkil port. Our comfortable bungalow was spacious and very clean. From our veranda it was great to watch the fishing boats passing at the river. The shared bathroom facilities are spotless clean and even come with a hot shower. The restaurant serves good food. Staff is super friendly and helpfull. Last but not least, special thanks to Mrs. Claudine for the excellent communication and organization!

Askara Toba Cottage features a garden, private beach area, a terrace and BBQ facilities in Tuk Tuk.

The room was right next to the lake, which was beautiful for swims in the morning, and the room itself was very comfortable and spacious. The staff were amazing, and made me feel really at home, we played pool, sang songs and I learned about the Batak culture there, couldn’t recommend this place more for whoever is looking to visit lake Toba!
