GermanyGamvik is located in the far north of Norway on the Nordkyn Peninsula, right by the Barents Sea — remote, peaceful, and incredibly impressive. The drive itself is already part of the adventure: crossing the wide mountain plateaus and high mountain passes on the way feels like a truly epic road trip. The vast landscapes, the open skies, and the feeling of absolute space make the journey unforgettable. It is genuinely a destination worth traveling for.
The accommodation itself is actually designed as a shared guesthouse with several rooms, but during our stay we had the entire place to ourselves, which made it even more special. We were welcomed extremely warmly by the owner, who personally showed us everything and explained all the details in a very friendly and helpful way.
The location is outstanding, directly by the sea with unobstructed views of the Barents Sea. Looking out of the window at the water and the dramatic Arctic scenery is something very special. Close by is the Slettnes Lighthouse, the northernmost mainland lighthouse in Europe — a remarkable place that perfectly reflects the raw and powerful character of this region. we travelled 2026-02 and will come back in the Summertime in the Future
The rooms are very clean, functional, and well maintained. Everything is practical and comfortable, and you immediately feel at ease. There is a well-equipped kitchen with dining facilities and a cozy seating area to relax. Parking is right in front of the building, and WiFi is of course available.
Unfortunately, there was so much snow outside that we could not use the terrace, but even the winter conditions add to the unique atmosphere of this place. We would come back anytime.
