My wife and I had a great time at this hotel. Really amazing food and the owners are extremely generous. The hotel also has free parking and it is also only about a 12 minute walk from the city centre, so getting around is very easy. The hotel also has two private onsens on the main floor, so you don't even need to walk into town if you don't feel like it. It seems like most people only stay one night, but we stayed two and found that there is more than enough to do around the city. We spent our time alternating between hikes and different onsens! I wish I took better photos of the dinners because they were really good!

Every need was addressed, they even left us a fresh apple juice in the fridge and a welcome note. Rooms were huge and the beds were really comfortable. The kids enjoyed playing with the toys 🧸 and to jump on the small trampoline outside.

The garden was beautiful and extremely well maintained. The room was comfy, and the outside hot spring was well presented. The food was very nice and they accommodated our specific dietary requirements. Dogs were very friendly and I enjoyed brushing them. Overall, very nice accommodation!!

This was a tastefully designed, classy yet friendly ryokan. My room was Japanese traditional with tatami floors. Every item in it was beautifully designed. My own private hinoki bath on the balcony had a breathtaking view of the hillside and stream below, and the entire time I enjoyed the sound of the water flowing. The food was very good, they served a beautiful kaiseki meal that went on forever (it seemed). At the cafe, they served their house blend coffee called Mori-no-coffee which I enjoyed while sitting in one of their comfy chairs with an art book on my lap. The staff was courteous and nice too, it was truly a perfect day.

We loved the food. 10 course meal dinner. Breakfast was amazing too. True Japanese style cusine. Farm to table. Really fresh ingrediemts. Room was really clean and spacious. Onsen was clean too. Staffs were super friendly. We absolutely loved everything about this place.

This was the nicest hotel room we stayed in across Japan (we stayed at 6 hotels and various other apartments, homes, and condos). Everything was updated and the layout was exceptional. The staff was kind enough to facilitate getting us a tee time at the onsite golf course. It was an amazingly beautiful course.

The two people who ran the hotel were extremely nice and friendly, and their cats were also lovely to see. The area is very secluded and peaceful, very idyllic. The shuttle service between Yumoto-Onsen and the hotel was an absolute lifesaver.
