The hotel is not large nor particularly luxurious, but it exudes a refined quality. The staff are very friendly and the service is excellent. The bathhouse — in terms of space, view, and water quality — is truly enjoyable. In the evening, we unexpectedly heard the okami (proprietress) share her personal experience with this hotel during the 3/11 tsunami, which was deeply moving. It gave us a deeper understanding of that disaster and became an unexpected highlight of our trip. We would love to visit again if we have the chance.

Our stay was fantastic. The property is conveniently located about a 5-minute drive from the ski slopes, which made getting to the mountain very easy. A special mention must go to our host, Junji-san. His hospitality truly made the stay exceptional. He kindly offered to drive us to and from the ski slopes every day and was always available to answer any questions we had. When we arrived at Appi Kogen Station late in the evening (around 9pm+), he personally picked us up, which we really appreciated after a long journey. Junji-san also helped arrange the shipping of our snowboards to the airport, which made our departure much more convenient. On one of the nights we had dinner at the property, and it was absolutely amazing. A big thank you to Junji-san and the staff for their warm hospitality and for making our trip so enjoyable and memorable. We would definitely love to stay here again.

Very short walk from Shiwachuo station. A wonderful and affordable alternative to hotels in Morioka or Hiraizumi. Our booking was for the room only, with a shared bathroom. Still, to our surprise, our room had a spacious toilet. There is also a Japanese bath in the hotel. The breakfast was included in the price, which is a big buffet with lots of variety. Great value for money. An oasis, a little gem.

I only stayed for one night at the Share House, but if I could have extended my stay, I definitely would have as it was great in every matters. The house is well located, next to the famous Gusonji complex of Hiraizumi. The guest’s bedroom is a traditional Japanese one, with tatami floor and futon bedding. There’s also a stove and a heating mattress available, which was very convenient during this cold winter season. The common room is cosy with a nice kotatsu heating table. But the truly most outstanding thing about this place are the people running it. It had been quite some time while traveling that I didn’t feel welcomed as much as I did here. Chihiro and Smey were truly committed to share their daily life with me, even if it was only for such a short time, and I’m really thankful to them for that.
