Location in Montevideo could not be bettered. The room was large with a very comfortable bed, strong shower, well equipped with large TV (with lots of international channels), coffee making equipment and a fridge. Very modern and clean room. I stay in so many hotels and I was very impressed. Staff were very professional, pleasant and accommodating.

Brothers Jordan and Joseph were very helpful friendly and efficient. The guy who checked us in and out was also exceptionally helpful. The room was a delux room and spacious. The cleaning staff excellent and very pleasant to deal with as the fridge needed attention when we arrived. This was done quickly and we were able to check in and leave our bags early. Our check out time was facilitated and we were given help with translating our flight bookings and the hotel booked our taxi ensuring we got to the airport in good time. The restaurant is very nice and the food and wine good. It was very friendly and good value. We are glad we booked The Smart Hotel.

It was clean, safe and centrally located for our needs. We don’t speak Spanish, but the staff was able to help us when we needed it.

Great location, near the central squares and the Old Town. Very pleasant hotel with nice staff, with an excellent grasp of English surpassing our limited Spanish. The city itself is a joy and the hotel added to the experience. It was very clean and welcoming.

Because I injured my back the first day, I spent most of my time in my hotel room. The room and hotel were clean and comfortable. The bed, lighting, heating, and hot water in the bathroom were excellent. They asked about cleaning and dinner every day. The room was cleaned whenever I requested. Breakfast was great! The staff was friendly and helpful. I was able to walk to nearby historical sites and parks without getting tired. This is definitely a hotel to choose for your trip to Montevideo. I highly recommend it!

Excellent location to shopping centre and bus terminal

Great character property in the Ciudad Vieja. The hotel is in an older, well-maintained building in a central location. Nice room and we paid a bit more for a private terrace - fun splurge for a night. The room was well-lit and had a safe, which you wouldn’t expect for the price. No breakfast, but coffee was available in the morning. Loved the atmosphere.

The atmosphere among staff and guest was very good. Very helpfull people working at the hostel.

The place is great, the stuff very welcoming, the room was spacious and clean. It's calm place, there was no noise and I was well- rested. There is a warm shower, wifi works well, the area around the hotel was safe and full of good options for eating out. I was very happy with this choice.

The breakfast was great. The rooms were fantastic - one of the most comfortable beds ever. Lovely swimming pool. Fantastic staff.

The property was right in the centre to explore .. I got room I requested on high floor this was lovely to See the sunset over the bay with glass of wine from my room Indoor pool facilities were good hot a bit noisy after 6pm
