Appin Holiday Homes -Caravans, Lodges, Shepherds Hut and Train Carriage stays is located in Appin, midway between the towns of Oban and Fort William. That was my second stay there. Love this place. Amazing view and so quiet. This is definitely a great place to escape from the city.

I've been to lots of remote locations around Scotland and this was the most red squirrels I've ever seen in one place.

Great facilities within, the wood-burning stove is a real treat and was a lovely place to relax after being out and about. Couldn't fault Hawthorn as a place to stay and would happily do so again.

Host was courteous, room was clean and cooking equipment provided. It was just the relief I needed after illness at start of the year. Ferry to mull was only 3/4 minutes away. Bed was comfy, wifi provided and host had installed blackout curtains which was greatly apeciated.
