Hawun Valley Kiulu ofrece alojamiento con aire acondicionado en Tamparuli, además de un hidromasaje. Didn’t expect the room come with little pantry with ricecooker, water kettle, and stove to cook. Plates, cups and utensil for cooking also provided. But they only allow Halal food ya. There is fridge also. Room is very clean and love the sweet pink color room😆 pool is not too deep and have lovely warm temperature. This place is well maintain.

Thank you Sook Peng and Fred for helping my stay feels like home! They have arranged the transfer quite seamlessly, I got picked up from the hotel early morning to the pier and then to the island. The view is truly amazing as the lodge is right in front of the sea. They have everything you need for this Island: kayaks, snorkel masks, beach mats and coconuts (and beer which is a rare commodity in the island)! Thank you Sook Peng for the wonderful breakfast, lunch and dinner. It’s wonderful to enjoy a hearty home-cooked meal by the sea. I also get to taste some delicious farm-to-table vegetables they’ve grown from their aquaponics farm ♥️ I’ve enjoyed my time on the island, there’s a dive centre 5-min walk from the lodge and it’s convenient if you’d like to join a dive or two. My room is right in front of the sea with a little garden, sun lounge area and a private entrance to the beach. You’re surrounded by nature and animals, I’ve seen cats, cows, tree frogs, big green turtles and more. Just be prepared for mosquitos at night, you can spray the room before you leave for dinner, I’ve also bought a “Deep Woods” repellent and some repellent wristbands which comes in quite handy. There’s no aircon in the room but the island breeze does help, the room is well-ventilated and there’s a fan and cooling machine in the room. Truly an amazing getaway, I must come back again!

El The Last Frontier Boutique Resort se encuentra en Bilit, en lo alto de una colina de 100 metros con vistas a la reserva forestal de Kinabatangan y a 2 horas en auto de la hermosa Sandakan. I had high expectations of the Last Frontier, and somehow it exceeded them. We were looked after from start to finish by the very impressive Jason - we learned so much from him about the area, and Malaysia in general, and he was extremely thoughtful about everybody's needs. We went on three boat rides and a hike. Ryan, our guide, was very knowledgeable and could identify animals from just a quick glance (he's quiet at first but if you ask him questions you'll learn a lot). We felt completely safe with him and spotted four of the "Borneo Big 5", despite the rainy season, as well as many other animals. The morning cruise costs a bit extra (95 MYR per person at the time of writing) but was totally worth it for another chance to see the animals - on ours we saw orangutans and rhinoceros hornbills, although of course nothing is guaranteed. The lodge itself is very comfortable with big beds and hot showers - the only thing missing is mosquito nets (there are screens on the windows but a few still get in). If you're worried about other creepy crawlies entering the room, we didn't see any. The restaurant on the other hand is open at the sides so when the lights come on in the evening it's full of life - you'll see moths and bats flying through (but don't worry, they're not interested in you). The food was delicious - while breakfasts were western style, we were served classic Malaysian dishes for dinner. Meals are set - there is no menu to choose from - but they were extremely thoughtful about dietary needs, so let them know in advance (vegans and people with allergies are well catered for here). And while there is no wifi, we had data connection with both Celcom and Maxis at least some of the time. This is a special place where you'll get a more intimate experience of nature than at the bigger lodges. We loved our stay and whole-heartedly recommend it.

Recomendado al 100%.

Maglami-lami Water House está ubicado en Semporna y tiene alojamiento con vistas al mar y un restaurante. Absolutamente perfecto. Nos costaría explicar con palabras lo que vivimos allí. Ubicación inmejorable en mitad del mar con los mejores amaneceres que hemos visto en nuestra vida; comida casera y deliciosa; actividades divertidas y bien organizadas. Y sobre todo el personal, servicial y sonriente; incluso nos ayudaron los quemaduras de sol jajajaj No os lo penséis, merece la pena salir del ruido de Mabul y disfrutar de su hospitalidad :)

Howard has created a beautiful lodge intertwined with the surrounding environment, going above and beyond for any guests needs, the wildlife reserve he has created is fantastic for bird spotting and if you're lucky enough to be there when he does his edible and medicinal plants tour and traditional rungus lunch don't hesitate.
