Friendly, gentle and full of personality, he greeted me every time I walked in, as if he’d decided I was family. He added so much warmth to the experience that I can’t imagine the lodge without him. The guesthouse is run by two wonderful sisters whose hospitality truly stands out. They’re kind, open-minded and genuinely fun to be around. We had many great conversations about life, the city and everything in between. Their help and friendliness made my time in Varanasi even more meaningful, and I’m sincerely grateful for that. What makes Shiva Lodge special is the balance it offers. Step outside and you’re immediately immersed in the intensity, devotion and energy of Varanasi. Step back inside and you’re in a peaceful, welcoming sanctuary where you can breathe, relax and recharge. If you want a place that lets you truly experience the spirit of this sacred city while feeling cared for and comfortable, Shiva Lodge is a wonderful choice. I fully recommend staying here.

Absolutely perfect! We had two beautiful rooms. The rooftop restaurant was delicious and had a beautiful view. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

We had a wonderful experience with this property, stayed here for 3nights and 4days. If you are looking for a place in the midst of nature without the hustle bustle of city, this is the perfect getaway. Host Shubham and care taker Rohit were great and their hospitality was top notch. We also went for off beat location, arranged by the hosts for a nominal cost, it was very nice too. This lodge has only been up and running for less than a year and I believe we were amongst the first European visitors. The lodge has a great pool and dining area. Food was super value for money and freshly cooked. Very friendly low-key professional service. The thing really to highlight though it’s the extra mile at the staff went to. Our son forgot his mobile phone in the taxi that dropped us off at the lodge and one of the team drove 30 minutes on a motorbike to catch up with a taxi to get the phone back. That same evening they also took us on an individual guide tour around the village and down to the lake where we saw crocodiles jumping into the water. The landscape in the region is quite unique and absolutely stunning. The leopard tour was a wonderful experience and not only gave you the chance to the whole range of wildlife but also to see the surrounding countryside we did both the morning and the evening tour but if you can only do one, I would recommend the morning.
