For foreigners, renting a car is a must; it's not easy to move around, and unless you want to charter Ubers from Lisbon, it's challenging to find transportation. Also, come with groceries to have a cute getaway. There are restaurants in close by towns, but you need a vehicle. We were lucky because we went the weekend of the Alma de Vihno festival in Alenquer (13km away), so we had access to Uber/ Bolt rides. The accommodation was so cute, and the hosts were lovely and gracious. It was harvest season, and they shared some of their fruit bounty with us. Very quiet and incredibly relaxing by the pool and listening to their multiple fountains in the quiet corners of their large property. Fantastic option to get away from the bustle of the big city. Highly recommend.
