It’s definitely the best hotel in Abisko according to locals and personal experience. The twins room was very cozy and the bath was clean and warm. There is a helipad just right next to the hotel, you could meet the aurora there if you do not want to walk 15 mins to the lakeside (but not far, really). We also love the restaurant, we spent our dinner time there during our stays, staff was really helpful and cheerful.

Reindeer Lodge features a sauna and free private parking, and is within 23 km of Kiruna Train Station and 20 km of Kiruna Bus Station.

The area contains multiple cottages around, so it feels more like a cottage village, but for overnight staying, is more than alright. Everything was amazing! We went for ice fishing and chasing the aurora at the night with snowmobile, for sure a life time experience! Stephan was really helpful, a great guide and ana even better storyteller! He knew exactly the places and the right time we should go for seeing the aurora! Thank you very much :)) The room was clean, warm and as seen in the pictures.

We loved staying in the cabin, it was very cozy and well equiped for winter stay, with loads of wood prepared for us and actually more comforts than we were expecting from the description (there was a lot of water already stored in the cabin, for example). Dry toilet worked really well. Sauna was fantastic, and washing room very nice to use after it was heated from sauna, there were buckets available for washing. It was mostly very peaceful on the island, the frozen river was a great location to observe the aurora, and it is possible to do cross-country skiing on it. The bus stop is a 20-min walk away and you can catch a bus to Kiruna.
