As a solo traveller, it can often at times feel lonely. However in this hostel, not only did I make friends with other guests staying there but I also made friends with the staff! I had many conversations with the staff about various things. Feeling welcomed is such a thing to be grateful for, and I really appreciate that the staff are helpful, friendly and feel like they actually want you there. Human connection is really important. I think because the staff are young, they want to engage in conversations and overall just have a positive environment. This has been my favourite place to stay in the whole of Japan so far. The place is fresh, clean and welcoming what more could you want.

The private onsen's were really nice and so was the traditional japanese room - pretty, clean and warm, which was great after hiking. The staff was friendly and helpful, they made sure, that we were aware that the food options in village were limited, so we could make an informed decision about ordering dinner from them.

The ryokan was very well taken care of and beautifully maintained. The private room was comfortable and spacious, and the shared bathrooms were impeccably clean. The same goes for the kitchen, it was spotless and well equipped. The shared spaces were especially lovely, perfect for enjoying a meal or spending a cozy rainy afternoon.

On the check in day we were a bit early the stuff let us stay in the common room until we could check in and on the check out date we could stay a bit longer in the common room after the check out. The stuff members were really really friendly.

The hostel itself is very cozy and you immediatly feel at home when walking in. The owners are very good hosts, communicate well and are extremly welcoming. I explored the surroundings by foot or train and found it very relaxing. The beach was also nice.
