The private onsen in the guesthouse were amazing, especially the outdoor one. Right on the Kumano Kodo. 3 min from bus stop. The Bento boxes for dinner were varied and tasty. The room was so comfortable and warm. Right next to the world UNESCO onsen which is a cool experience.

Much better than I expected! The building is beautiful and the fact that the dorms have sliding doors that open to the small courtyard was a nice feature. Staff were great, made me feel welcome immediately, and they spoke good English. Common spaces (kitchen+living room + outdoor patios) were plentiful, the mixed dorm was spacious, no issues at all with moving around. This place had a really nice friendly vibe to it, so I felt comfortable extending my stay to two nights.

Gion Ryokan Q-beh - Hostel style offers dormitory rooms and Japanese-style private rooms, and free WiFi access at all areas.

Very spacious room and bathroom. Largest room and bathroom I've experienced in Japan so far after 2 visits. Up to date toilet, shower facilities etc even included a nice large bath with jets. Location is excellent, right on the main river between Kyoto and Gion and next to the Gion train station.

Grear place to stay, close to Kiyomizudera. Our apartment was well equiped, quite spacious, clean. Beds were comfortable. Host was very nice and helpfull. Wifi was good.

English speaking, helpful and quick to give tips that came in very handy! It's a 40 min walk to the cemetary, but on the other hand easily accessible with bus. Its spacious, clean and all in all a very good spot. Would definitely stay here again.
