Check-in was very straightforward. The old town is only about a 5-minute walk away. The apartment is nicely furnished and a good size. The biggest advantage is undoubtedly the parking space right outside the door.

Absolutely do not be put off by the outside of the building. Sarajevo is rebuilding from war and there were bullet holes all over the front entrance. For us, it made it even more unique. The apartment inside was modern, very tastefully decorated and immaculately clean. The apartment is located up a flight of stairs so if you have heavy bags please make note of this. Parking is very close by in an underground car parking. Instructions and directions to get there were perfect and easily understood. To pay for the property you pay in Euros or BAM on arrival. We had a problem with the TV one evening, the owner came immediately and helped resolve it. Very nice and helpful owner. The apartment is located very close to the centre of Old Town up a short hill. We had croissants and some local sweet treats from a little shop located at the bottom of the hill - I absolutely recommend this too… delicious! While we were in Sarajevo we did a 4 hour war tour which we booked via Booking.com with a company called Dream Balkans Travel. If you have the time to do this then I thoroughly recommend it; great historical facts, you get to visit the secret tunnel built under the city airport and visit local landmarks in an air conditioned vehicle with a war veteran. It was superb.

We had a very comfortable stay at Mayisa Apartments. The apartment was spacious, clean, and within walking distance of Baščaršija. During our previous visits, it was easy to find parking around the property, but with the new sidewalks, most spots are no longer available, and many of the remaining ones are now reserved. Because of this, having a private parking area at the property is a major advantage. There are still some parking spots near the large public parking area nearby, but they are usually full. The host was very attentive, and the self check-in option is a big convenience for many guests. Thank you for everything we would gladly stay here again on our next visit to Sarajevo.
