We had some issues with our flight and the car rental company, but the hotel receptionists were incredibly helpful. They regularly checked in with us to see what was happening and made sure to keep our booking despite our late arrival. Overall, Le Roof exceeded our expectations in every way. The staff were welcoming and attentive, the location is fantastic, and the whole experience was excellent. I can only recommend this hotel and would happily stay here again.

Vacancéole - Ker Goh Lenn - Vannes / Morbihan
The location is OK on the outskirts of Vannes. There is a big supermarket a short drive down the road. The pool is quiet, civilised and basic with an area for very young children. We stayed at the height of summer, so the place was full, but it never felt crowded. Not much to do on-site besides the pool, the mini-gym, or ping pong. Carnac is about 30 mins drive away. Vannes centre is about 10 or 15 minutes. There’s a (feu de bois) Pizza van on site most evenings. Apartments are basic self-catering and our bed was a clic-clac (which was a bit uncomfortable). Overall, I liked it - peaceful and very French. Don't go here and expect to meet English people.
Le Clos du Gusquel
This was a lovely place to stay while exploring the Gulf of Morbihan. Christelle was a very nice host, who had plenty of suggestions for things to do in the area. Le Clos du Gusquel is architecturally stunning (for UK readers think 'Grand Designs'). The grounds included a beautiful (and quite large) pool which was most welcome at the end of a hot day. The guest rooms and dining area/kitchen/lounge and terrace are in a separate area of the house, which we liked. Our room was very spacious and clean, with a lovely view over the pool and grounds. The area is peaceful and quiet. There is an excellent galette restaurant a short drive away, but on a couple of nights (after a long day) we were also able to prepare something simple in the guest area. Breakfast was excellent and tasty, as other guests have noted. There is so much to do in this region. We enjoyed visiting Vannes - a beautiful city, hiking on Ile-d'Arz, biking around the standing stones in Carnac and visiting some wonderful small towns in the east - Rochefort-en-Terre, La Gacilly and Malestroit. On our way to Le Clos we also visited Pont-Aven, which was arty and beautiful. A wonderful few days!

Sophies place is beautiful. The accommodation is clean and very comfortable and Sophie is very welcoming and made a delicious breakfast. The garden is very peaceful yet the location is close by car to Vannes. We would definitely return.
