Spacious villa and Hosts were lovely and respected our privacy.

The house has been renovated to a very high standard and is immaculate throughout. It is full of traditional style and very tastefully furnished. There is much evidence of the generations of family woodworking skills. Cretan hospitality welcomes you. All the rooms are comfortable, spacious, light and airy. The roof terrace is a wonderful place to sit at any time of day or night with superb views of the surrounding mountains. It is just a short 2 minute walk to the central square with tavernas offering excellent food. The host, Andreas, is very friendly and helpful, speaks English and has a wealth of knowledge about the village and Cretan life.

Fantastic private outdoor area where we spent most of our time and could always find some shade. Lovely rustic, well equipped and clean house in a quiet location. Nice pool (roughly 3x6 meters). Yannis, the host, was very helpful and friendly and speaks english very well! Great experience eating in the village taverna that is a short walk from the house.

We wish we could stay forever at this amazing house! The garden was filled with olive trees, there was an old well and two diferent areas to seat for dinner and breakfast or just to relax. Inside beds, sofas, kitchen items... were new. Nektarios was always accessible, he sent us many local restaurants, beaches and places to visit. He even sent info of a concert at the village which we enjoyed. Perfect house to escape from crowds whilst being well located to explore the west and center parts of Crete.

Beautiful traditional stone house with lovely patio and outside BBQ! Just 30-40 min from Chania, beaches and wineries. Located in quiet village allowing for peaceful evenings.

What an incredible property! Even better than the photos show. A fantastic large pool, luxury sunloungers, beautiful bedrooms and bathrooms all of a good size and the whole house was spotlessly clean. The driveway is nothing to worry about- just a slightly steep rocky track but easy to drive in any car. Also a lovely, peaceful location in Nípos, with 2 fantastic village tavernas a 5 min walk away, plus a good supermarket only a 5 min drive away. Silvia was a wonderful host, she went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. 10/10 would recommend to any family or a group of friends! Good local taxis can get you to Chania or Rethinmo in around 30-40 mins for approx 65€ so not too remote either.

Quiet location, well appointed, great view

The location was amazing, it was in the middle of nature but close to nearby villages. The Root House was one of the best accommodations I have ever been in. Maria, the manager, was very helpful throughout the whole time, her approach was very professional but she was so nice and friendly at the same time, I loved being in touch with her. The cleanliness of the Root House of was flawless, the owner dropped a fresh set of towels after few days which was really attentive. The kitchen was fully equipped with gas stove, fridge, frech press and everything you might need, we could only use a grill or oven on top of that.

We felt like we were living in a small village with a beautiful stone courtyard, garden and the pool. It was spectacular and we were not bothered by the distance from the sea. It was fantastic, not to mention the hospitality of the owner Menia. Thank you dear Menia for a perfect vacation.

So beautiful and peaceful place, we loved every minute there! There were everything you need in the house and it was very clean, the garden and the pool area was beautiful. There were totally silence at nights and thousands of stars at the sky. Magical place.

Beautiful villa in secluded surroundings

Our stay at this villa on Crete was absolutely phenomenal! The host, Nikos, is hands-down the best we’ve ever met—warm, attentive, and truly dedicated to making our stay perfect. The villa is stunning, with exceptional design and every detail thoughtfully considered, from fully stocked essentials to luxurious touches. The pool is perfect, surrounded by beautifully designed relaxation areas with ample shade when needed, including an incredible chill spot under a majestic 200-year-old pine tree right by the pool. The magnificent beach, just an 8-minute drive away, added to the magic of this experience. We are 100% coming back, and we can’t recommend Nikos and his incredible villa highly enough!

A lovely renovated Cretan house/villa in a beautiful quiet setting. Beautiful pool and spacious outdoor cooking/eating area. The rooms were clean and comfortable, all with air-conditioning, the kitchen well equipped. The host responded quickly to requests. My family loved their stay at the villa! And as the villa is just on the edge of the village and private, the children were able to be children, ie noisy in the pool! 10 minutes walk to the village square and amazing views.

Amazing views and a really nice pool also there’s a restaurant owned by them right across the road that has everything you need. Has spacious rooms and bathrooms and is also 15 minutes away from one of the most beautiful and famous lakes in Europe its absolutely stunning would highly recommend also really good price

we were located in the as Almyrida Studio, which is one of three houses that together are the whole Resort. The staff was extremely helpful and kind. the hotel management seems to prioritize customer experience over raw profits. the rooms are clean and kept clean. the bathroom and shower are modern. but that is not all since the location of the hotel is fantastic. next to the beach and with a small garden.

Although I was late for breakfast the first day I arrived, a special breakfast was prepared for me. I spent a very pleasant 10 days in the hotel. It is definitely a hotel I would like to come back again and again. The location is very good. I would like to thank all the staff, especially Florian and Maria. You did a great job. The treats were a very nice gesture. Perfect for those who want to spend a quiet and peaceful holiday.
