Total surprise. Stayed here for a local festival thinking it was just gonna be a functional spot to just crash and ended up being so much more relaxing and a place I wanted to hang out more. Dinner spread was totally unexpected and high quality. Great breakfast. Onsen is fine and functional though the infinity pool is a nice touch. Such a neat collection of Japanese comic books in a very tranquil library room. Recommended
Very big room, Japanese style but with 2 Queen size beds. Comfortable beds. Great view, even if at the 5th floor you have only a half view, due to a big building in front of you, therefore I suggest to ask for a room at the 8th floor. Nice private onsen (4 available) Very kind people.
Staff were amazingly hospitable, the private onsen attached to our room was beautiful with an amazing ocean view. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone who wishes to see what a quiet Japanese town is like bby the seaside while still getting an amazing luxury experience.
This was a wonderful hotel and I would go back in a flash. It is right on the beach. We were there in February so the pool was closed but the onsen was open. Went there in the morning and last thing in the evening. The rooms are nice and big. Try and get a seaside facing room to enjoy the beach and the rising sun. The staff were friendly. All in all a great experience. Also there is a free shuttle bus to Kawazu town but there is also a train station near the hotel.
The staff was very friendly and spoke English well. Amazing location right in front of the ocean.
There are places where you simply feel like a guest. And then there are places where, from the very first second until the very last, you are surrounded with such warmth and care that you feel like royalty — truly welcomed, valued, and wanted. This is exactly that kind of place. This beautiful boutique hotel has only around 18 rooms, and that is precisely what makes it so special. There is no feeling of crowds or anonymity here. Every guest is treated as an individual, every detail is remembered, and every effort is made to create a truly unforgettable stay. Every member of the staff does everything possible to make your experience warmer, more comfortable, and more beautiful. And it never feels formal or artificial — it feels genuinely heartfelt. The cuisine deserves special admiration. Dinner felt worthy of a restaurant aspiring to three Michelin stars: the presentation, the flavors, the attention to every tiny detail — all absolutely exceptional. Our very first dinner was made even more memorable thanks to Koki, whose elegance, attentiveness, and quiet charm created that rare atmosphere of true hospitality that simply cannot be faked. At the same time, the fact that the entire staff speaks excellent English makes the whole experience even more comfortable and effortless. The rooms are another story altogether. The softest towels and robes, unbelievably comfortable beds — everything feels designed to wrap you in warmth and serenity. And the views, sunsets, and sunrises are simply unforgettable. But the most magical part is the private onsen in the room itself. Soaking in natural hot thermal water while surrounded by silence and breathtaking scenery is an experience beyond words. For guests who may feel uncomfortable visiting public onsens, this creates a rare and wonderful opportunity to experience an authentic Japanese onsen in complete privacy. At some point, you simply stop feeling the boundary between reality and pure happiness.
お部屋が広っかたです。 フロントのスタッフは親切で優しかったです。やっはり飲み放題のビールはいい点ですね。
The place is in a great location and easy to arrive, also it's very clean and as sime as the pictures. Also, because it's just two bedrooms, I felt that is more private.
I LOVE THE VIEW from the living room and also the Japanese dishes <3 the bathroom was my other favorite thing very spacious with a good natural light. Very close to the beaches like 15 min driving. Also we brought our car with us and he loves the birds on the window
Very friendly staff. Incredible breakfast The private onsen with sea views was incredible
The japanese breakfast, the onsen, the japanese room, the great staff, the fish in the entrance (you can feed them for 100yen and it’s very funny)
To whom it may concern, I am writing to you in regard to our pitiful stay at SEN NO UMI hotel https://senoumi.jp/ in IZU. We stayed for THREE nights in SEN NO UMI - IZU and I find it hard to start and express the level of disappointment and disgust I feel as a guest we have felt while staying in this lame / poor level hotel. Before describing the horrible time we had for three long days, due to the disadvantages of this horrible hotel, I would like to note that all that will be stated as follows are backed up by photos. SEN NO UMI hotel, although described as a 3-4 hotel is nothing but a 2 stars hotel, if one would like to be generous, and a lame Guest house for 20 something backpackers if one wants to give an honest description. And I will say HORRIBLE!!!!!!!! Having been living in Japan for over 20 years now, this is the FIRST TIME EVER I stayed in a hotel of which I could not figure whatsoever, the price I was asked to pay for such a dubious experience! SHUTTLE SERVICE 1. Although an email was sent on the morning of our arrival informing the hotel that our time schedule had changed (I have the email with the date and time to confirm we asked the hotel to change the arrival time in advance), NO ONE was waiting for us at the station. After calling the hotel, firstly I was scolded by one of the staff, and only thereafter was told that they are "willing" to send us a shuttle service to pick us up from the station to this "lovely" hotel. THEN even though Izu-Inatori station has two exits: one with NO stairs, and the other with plenty of them (!!!!): the pick up service did arrived, but for some unknown reason, chose to wait for us at the one which has plenty of stairs (this was the first time I started to get suspicious about the quality and nature of the hotel, not only for having lived in Japan for so many years, but also because I have my own small business which affiliated with overseas tourism to Japan).
We did self-check-in, which went very smoothly thanks to the detailed instructions about the location and the parking space. Everything was clean and the beds were comfortable. Super spacious if staying with 3 people. We also enjoyed our visit at the morning market, which is very close by.
