Staying at Solar de Vila Meã was a beautiful experience from start to finish. The first thing that struck me was the setting — it’s absolutely stunning. Surrounded by vineyards and peaceful countryside, the entire property feels like a hidden retreat. Every view, whether from the room, the pool, or the garden, looked like a painting. There’s a real sense of calm and space here that’s hard to describe but easy to fall in love with. The restaurant, Barro, completely exceeded expectations. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely proud of what they serve, which made the whole experience even more special. If you’re looking for a place that combines natural beauty with exceptional food and a sense of quiet luxury, I couldn’t recommend Solar de Vila Meã more highly.

Everything! The host was perfect, even letting us upgrade as we'd made a little mistake in booking a small apartment for a week 😂 the host kept in contact and was quick to respond when we needed fresh towels. Everything was perfectly clean and tidy.

Beautiful apartment, very modern with great appliances in the kitchen and a nice shower in the bathroom. The terrace is also great and it's very close to the university and there are 2 grocery stores to easily walk to by foot. It also had a very well functioning AC unit! Oh and the beds were very comfy, I slept better here than in my own bed at home lol.

The whole property was thoughtfully presented and comfortable. The bed. was particularly good and it has a fantastic kitchen with a Wood Fire. The kitchen has all the Tools and Equipment you could possibly Need. Our host André was charmimg and helpful nothing was too much trouble.

Our entire stay was fantastic! From first booking Mr Nelson made contact and was very helpful! On arrival we were met by Me Luis who was extremely helpful and both him and Mr Nelson were on hand 24/7 to answer any questions very promptly during our stay. The villa is very well equipped with all modern equipment. The beds a very comfortable which was great! It has great views over Braga! Uber taxi and uber eats are available at this house also which is great! I stayed with my wife, 4 year old son and another couple and the house was so spacious for everyone. A big plus is A/C in every room which works perfectly! There is coffee and a coffee machine for free use which is a nice extra to the normal kitchen items. All showers and bathrooms have shampoo / conditioner as you would expect from a hotel along with fresh towels. Every detail was made to ensure a good stay with our son! Mr Luis arrived to help with cleaning the pool on my request and arrived with fruit, baked goods and pool accessories for my son which was such a thoughtful gesture. The sun travels around the house and leaves the pool around 5 pm but there is a beautiful terrace to the front then to take in the remaining sun until around 8pm. This house really feels like a new, modern home from home in a leafy quiet area. We would have stayed longer if we could have.

The location of the apartment is very convenient to visit the main attractions of the area like Barcelos, Braga and Guimarães. It is located on a side street off the main road. It is part of a small block of flats. There is a Lidl on the main road which is 8 mins drive away. There is also a convenient store and bakery on the main road, less than 5 mins walk away. The apartment is great and beautiful too! It was clean and well presented. There are two large bedrooms, both with comfortable, clean beds. We liked that there is an ensuite bathroom and a separate toilet. We were four people after all. The kitchen is very well equipped which allowed us to cook our evening meals. The dishwasher was a great help for that. Great communication with the owner. The instructions to pick-up and drop off the keys were clear and easy to understand. On time communication.
