The owners and staff are so welcoming and they really make your time there feel special. We were lucky to get their famous hot pot dinner, which was delicious made from natural ingredients. Despite having a language barrier, I was impressed with how warm all our interactions were. They shared lots of tips with us and told us the story and history of the place. The bed was super comfy as well and we were able to rest properly. Thanks again for the great experience! 😊

The staff was really nice and helpful. My boy was very sick, vomiting nonstop in their restaurant. They guided me to the nearest clinic and helped me move my 4 huge luggage around. This is the first time I'm staying in minsu though I didn't really get to enjoy but the view was spectacular. It was really worthwhile. I'll definitely visit again! Huge appreciation to the staff again!

The location is very convenient. It's just 3 min walk from the Jiufen Old Street bus stop. The size of room is perfect for 2 people. We also love the vibe of our room. It's cozy for winter days we stayed in Jiufen

Amazing view from the studio, fantastic location, and exceptionally helpful owner. We got there from taipei on mass transit, but an Uber is also pretty affordable.

This is my second time returning to Jiufen and staying at this hotel, and the service remains as excellent as it was two years ago. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious, nutritious, and beautifully presented. The location is perfect—just a 3-minute walk from the Taipei bus stop and another 3 minutes into the heart of the old town. We booked a sea-view room, and the scenery was stunning, ideal for enjoying hot tea while watching the sunset or sunrise. The bathroom was spotless and fully equipped. Before check-out, each guest received a Jiufen postcard, which was a really sweet touch. The price is highly reasonable given the prime location and quality of service.

The location is great. It’s only a two-minute-walk to the most beautiful part of the old town. The ocean view from the bedroom window is great; it’s just too bad that it rained the whole time during our stay. The room is equipped with a dehumidifier and electric blankets which are very thoughtful and essential details of the room.

It’s a unique experience to stay at this hundred years old house. The hostess was very friendly.

The location is great,it's a few steps away from the old street. Across the street from a Family Mart and 7/11. The terrace is lovely. The host was very kind and helpful. The room size is decent for a 1 night stay.

We loved staying at the Way Young House! Kevin was an amazing host! He did everything from helping us park and carrying our huge bags, to showing us the best (and cheapest) spots to explore around the beautiful town. He even showed us around one of the temples and explained Taiwanese and Chinese traditional religious practices to us in great detail. He personally delivered our breakfast to our room, and made a point to check if we needed anything on multiple occasions. The view from our room was absolutely gorgeous. The hotel is tucked away on a quiet mountainside, but still very close to the main streets in town, and stores with everything you might need (less than 5 minute walk!) We would love to stay at the Way Young House if we ever find ourselves in Taiwan again!

It's very unique experience - we liked it a lot because we wanted to touch authentic Taiwan - it's not a five star hotel. The host is very nice and helpful. We DO recommend this place to everybody!
