The owners were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The whole building is fabulous, steeped in history, and the rooms all have their own personality and character, with wonderful features in each room. We ate in the restaurant for breakfast and evening meal, the products were locally sourced and delicious 😋 The town of Stanardsville is lovely and has a great shop called Noon which features local artists. You could spend hours in this shop!

When can we come back?! One night is not enough to enjoy this incredible place! We were two French guys on a road trip through Virginia and we found here the best landscapes, the best local food and the best people. It was an incredible experience and we couldn't get tired of watching this beautiful view of the mountains on the rocking chairs. Dinner and Breakfast were delicious!

Staff were excellent, brilliantly professional and prepared to go the extra mile for us, the lady on the kitchen was so polite, lovely and everyone said how nice she was. I arrived later than expected but the front desk lady still arranged a shuttle for me from the airport, saving me money for a cab. The manager drove me himself! The hotel was clean and very quiet, plus they had beer for sale, which was great because there was no bars or stores near by. Breakfast was hot and delicious. I would definetly recommend this hotel.
