The room was very clean spacious and comfortable it was one of the Karoo Life cottages. Superb hosts and fabulous boxer dog called Liffey. We ate at the guest house in the evening on the stoep and the food was excellent. Lovely friendly atmosphere with other guests. Excellent breakfast - the largest fruit salad yogurt and museli I’ve ever encountered! My husband’s full English was also excellent.

Beautiful place, comfortable chalets, peaceful atmosphere, nice and friendly owners.

Location, the pool and the trees

Utterly beautiful farmstead... big comfortable stoep (verandah) with a view of the barn and the Swartberg mountains... just the right amount of farm animals around ( love the muscovy ducks!) The farmhouse is simple and cool... deceptively so.. everything is super beautifully thought out .. simple, easy luxury.. despite the price.

The Braai set up and pool area, also the airconditioned room and complementary coffee/tea unit!

We loved our stay at River Cottages, it was quiet and secluded with great views and amazing walks. Bronwyn and Colin were very welcoming and we would definitely go back for a longer stay next time!

Beautiful suite for a couple, large and very comfortable. Hosts are really lovely, super friendly and helpful.

The wheelchair accessible apartment was perfectly adjusted, spacious, and beautiful. There were no stairs, but without help, I was unable to enter the building through the car gate because the ramp was too steep. Hosts were super helpful and friendly, and also advised us to visit Axe Hill Winery, which was a total bullseye! Loved their wines.

This is a real gem in Calitzdorp. Beautiful house with old charm, perfectly well maintained and it provides everything a traveller needs when you travel in the Karoo. We stayed one night, coming from Addo, going to the winelands. Nice pool, safe parking for your car and above all complete information from the owner. We loved it.

The owner was very friendly! We had a port wine bottle in the room and it was lovely to sit outside. It was clean and in a good location.

A lovely little cottage. We had a lovely braai. Milk and tea provided as well as a braai starter pack. Spacious and comfortable. Conveniently located to be able to walk to nearby vineyards

We loved our brief stay at Spekboom cottage. We appreciated the effort Sue has made to retain/ restore the character of this traditional dwelling whilst providing comfortable accommodation. Sue went out of her way to help us for which we were very grateful, highly recommended.
