As the name suggests, The accomodation is located in a very convenient central part of the city. Many fairly priced restaurants around, and if you want to splurge, there are some upper-market cafes a short walking distance also. And as a cherry on the cake, there are some great views of a nearby, frequently erupting volcano Rosa, the host, goes above and beyond making sure you feel welcome, comfortable, and are armed with enough knowledge to get the most out of her city. I originally stayed here as a stop over town to break up my travels. But ended up staying a little longer because I enjoyed it so much.

More than the pics online can say, Mamallacta is filled with tons of details that make the difference! This is far from being "just a hotel"!. You see the care of his owner, Jonathan, for his place. The hotel is perfectly located to go enjoy the thermal pools (5min walk away). Jonathan also shared information on the current situation in Ecuador so the whole experience was just wonderful. One of the best dinners I had in Ecuador and... artesanal beers! BRAVO!

peaceful, great hosts, very very kind! and the value for money is 10/10, you have a good breakfast. you have shops to buy sth to cook in the kitchen or you may buy some pasta or pizza inside the hostel. you also have 6hs tour with a great guide to the jungle

Very peaceful Place. Tony and the whole team are there to make the stay a super special experience with a ton of knowledge about ecuador to share, fun activities and great hospitality. We did a rafting tour and went for a hike in the jungle and had the best time. we planned to stay one night and ended up staying three nights.

The view from the window was amazing, the location was great and the room was big and clean, an excellent value for the money we paid. Also they had a laundry service and a decent breakfast.

Extremely beautiful property and one of the nicest accomodations I've stayed in an Ecuador, let alone in the middle of the jungle. Spent most evenings jumping in the river and swimming just a minute walk down the stairs to the bank. Well located, very close to town, good WiFi, extremely clean, 5 star facilities

I loved the welcome we received as soon as we arrived. The people were attentive and ensured that they were available if we needed anything. The food was excellent and the meals well organised. The staff were available if we wished to do any excursions.

I liked absolutely everything about Rio Quijos EcoLodge...I would rate it as the best lodge in all of Ecuador...better than all the expensive lodges...very reasonably priced...fabulous birdwatching, hiking trails, beautiful grounds with splendid flowers and gardens, the main lodge, dining area and rooms are all immaculately clean and charming ...the meals are absolutely delicious, healthy, variety, ...best food in all of Ecuador for sure The staff is so welcoming, kind, hard working, accommodating, genuine and happy. The owner Angel made us feel at home...like family..not only an expert birder, photographer...but a gentle, easy going character with a delightful sense of humor Both Angel and his bird guide friend, Omar gave us several days of excellence bird watching...helped us discover endless new species, lifers, and had us laughing and having a grand time. We loved their dog, Kimchee...the most gentle, sweet, caring perro and trail guide... I can't recommend anyone and everyone,families, couples, bird lovers, individuals, white water paddlers or just looking for a peaceful nature get away...Rio Quijos has it all...
