All that amazingness and you walk out the door in the morning and you're on the trail!

After a cold wet mudslog from Isinlivi I was greeted at the door and had my wet items taken from me and hung in front of the fireplace. After a hot shower I cozied up in front of hearth with fresh banana bread and cookies. Dinner was fabulous! The bed was super comfy cozy with many blankets and a heater. The hostess and family warm and lovely. She even arranged to transfer my bag onwards to my hostel in Quilotoa. My itinerary permitted I would have loved to stay another day or so.

Don't be fooled by the simplicity of the lodge - the level of service by Xavier and the team is 5 star. Our room was simple but cosy and we only slept in it as there is a glorious mess room on the first floor. Here you can use the kitchen to prep your own food but we opted for the three course evening dinner at for $7.50 As a vegan with food intolerances, I'm always worried, but I felt very confident that my needs would be met. They didn't mind me bringing vegan extras to breakfast, like oat milk, spread, hummus, etc. At night a wood fire is lit which smells amazing and there are comfy sofas to curl up on. We used the taxi service to and from the lodge and the price was reasonable and service prompt. We also had a great tour to Lago Limpiopunga. The WiFi was exceptional and my husband and I were able to run our business from 4,000 miles away. We're in our sixties and were by far the eldest guests but felt very much at home. I'm afraid Cotopaxi didn't behave and was covered in cloud, but hey, ho, such is the coyness of volcanoes.

They also have a big Yoga studio to use (incl. mat) with an amazing view.

Easy Check in and super friendly host. Great diner, where Victor met our needs as we are fructose intolerance. Bed was comfy, shower was good. Great location final stage of the Quilotoa Loop starts at the hostel. Breakfast was amazing, especially tghe cheese sandwich was insanely good. Got three of them on the Trek. Sauna for 3 USD is also available. Highly recomand to stay.

At the hostel, all rooms are equipped with a balcony with a mountain view. The units at Hostal Cloud Forest come with a private bathroom and bed linen. This hostel was everything we could have asked for on our two night stop through the Quilotoa loop. Our room and bed was super cozy and the shower very nice. The staff here is wonderful, all super helpful and attentive. The included dinner is very nice, but the breakfast was truly lovely and more than we expected - A big bowl of lovely fruit, two pancakes, a fried egg, a cup of fruity yoghurt, oats and jam up for graps as well as all the coffee and tea you want, throughout the whole day in fact. I can recommend staying two nights and hiking up to the cheese factory on the “off”-day, free of the big backpacks ;). We didn’t try the spa cause we never really felt like it, but that is surely also super nice! Another great thing was the company of other nice people from different parts of the world. We had a lot to talk about with our different backgrounds and common experiences in Ecuador.
