Within walking distance of the ancient city of Avallon, but also situated in the countryside, this B & B offered everything and we wished we could have stayed longer. Our studio accommodation afforded every comfort and breakfast was charmingly delivered in a basket and left outside the room at whatever time requested. The old farmhouse and gite had a wonderfully rustic feel, as martins and swallows flew in and out of the stables, and it was easy to see how families with children would love the ponies, swimming pool, and many other activities on offer. Very reasonably priced and a place to revisit.

A particularly memorable encounter was meeting Julien at his antique shop, Maison des Brocanteurs. Dining at Le 1815, the hotel’s acclaimed restaurant, was an unforgettable highlight. Le 1815 delivers culinary artistry at its finest. The sense of family and welcome permeated every interaction, making my husband and me feel not just like a guest, but cherished friends.

What a unique apartment. The apartment is very cozy and clean. We enjoyed our stay there. The location is also great for exploring Avalon old town. We stayed for one night only on our way south, but we are already planning to come back and stay longer.

This is a jewel, a beautiful little place tucked away just behind Autun Cathedral (but you can drive to it). It is a B&B, so you get a wonderful breakfast. The host/hostess are extremely courteous and knowledgeable. They sent me on a delightful hike through the town and out into the countryside which was *exactly* what I wanted to do. At the same time, they were perfectly respectful of my desire for privacy. The room was charming and decorated with a bit of "Provencal" colored textiles. If this place is available when you are going to Autun, you should definitely reserve it.
