Miyajima Guesthouse Mikuniya is a traditional Japanese-style guesthouse located on Miyajima (Itsukushima). We stayed at a separate room which is not inside the main building. The room was spacious and had a private shower and bathroom. The main building of the guest house is very cosy and welcoming and the free dinner and breakfast are a great bonus. The washing machine and dryer were very fast and efficient.

Staff was excellent and super friendly and helpful - seriously among the best I have experienced in a while! The hotel is very close to the airport so you can easily walk or avail of the free shuttle bus if the weather isn't good. The garden right next to the hotel is nice to check out if you have some free time. I happened to get a room that came with access to their lounge so I could enjoy some drinks.

My first time in a Japanese ryokan, so I didn't know what to expect. But everything, from the hotel shuttle to/from the Miyajima pier to the reception and dining service, was simply top-notch. The rooms were very large (we had two rooms for 6 people, and all of us except 1 slept on the futon mattresses), the onsen was usually empty, and dining (both breakfast and dinner were taken care of) was simply excellent.. We would return!

It was so nice to stay in a quiet and nice area but still close to the city and train station. The guest house is beautiful. Our room too. The beds were comfortable and I could get a really good rest. They had great facilities, like the kitchen, instant hot water and coffee/tea/hot chocolat. We could do our laundry. Also they serve really good and affordable food, drinks and desserts at their gorgeous restaurant that was open during the day. They even have a Japanese garden with a Koi fish pond! The staff was very friendly and helpful. I loved everything about this place.
