We loved everything about Kurumiya. The character, the craftsmanship, lovely spacious room with comfy beds and onsen bath, very friendly and attentive hosts. Nothing was too much trouble for them. My husband liked the Netflix. Beautiful Japanese breakfast which was different every day. The location was good too. Near Higashi Chaya and Omicron markets with Machi-Nori cycle share point right across the road and buses nearby.

The park and castle are just 15-20 minutes walk (if you fancy a lovely walk instead of using the bus). I recommend it with no doubt 😉

Stayed 3 nights in clean, comfortable Japanese style room with private bathroom and started every morning with a great Japanese breakfast put together by the proprietor and his family. Owner is a fantastic guy who went out of his way to make our stay memorable - highly recommended

The room was extremely private and huge. It’s not a traditional hotel, but an apartment with amenities. It has everything you need in it. While it’s a little off the beaten path, that’s a benefit. It’s very quiet, comfortable and restful. Also, the Angolo cafe next door is EXQUISITE. You must visit for breakfast if you don’t get the Neon hotel breakfast (we didn’t).
