My room was stunning and authentic. The communal areas were really comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked with everything you could possibly want - including lovely pottery. The host was extremely helpful and caring. Only 5 minutes walk from the station and 15 minutes to convenience stores. This would make an ideal base for trips to Hirazumi, the gorge, and the Goishi Coast - I really wish I had stayed longer.

The two owners were some of the nicest people I met in Japan. They helped me so much during the three days I stayed there - if it was with an early check in or keeping my luggage while I was traveling on my last day. The room comes with everything one will need during their stay. They also run a small cafe/restaurant adjacent to the guest house with great homemade food. The room itself was very comfortable with a good bed, a fridge and a small working space with a desk and a comfortable chair that were perfect for me! Honestly, the best guest house I've been to in Japan.

The stay was absolutely wonderful. Really interesting and beautiful house filled with lots of interesting objects and stories, clean and modern, comfortable bed, quiet area, and a huge tatami area to spend time at. The kitchen was fully equipped, and we could enjoy using some unique skincare products and body-soap provided by the host. Check-in was very smooth, and we could enjoy our stay fully.

Had an absolute excellent stay at Ryokan Takimuraya. The elderly couple managing it were kind, attentive and hospitable. The room was big, clean and spacious, and the breakfast and dinner options were delicious! It is in a good location for travellers visting Karumai for the Haikyuu pilgrimage. Highly recommended and I would love to stay here again! : )
