Marvellous view of the city, sea, vulcan from the room. Fantastic breakfast in food quantity and quality, we ate outside on the patio of the breakfast restaurant. A lot of warm dishes, a lot of choice and also finest French patisserie. Fantastic onsen in the hotel. Fantastic nature and forest around the hotel. Very quiet at night. We used the bus coach to reach the city from the hotel, we also walked during the day through the pedestrian walk in the marvellous forest. To reach the entrance of the walk from the hotel, just follow the indication "Promenade" from the hotel: it is super easy: get out of the main entrance of the hotel, walk to the left, walk 100mt up to the kiosks selling tourist stuff, here follow indication "Promenade", it is other 70mt , and then take the path going down, it is not a road, it is very easy and very wide trail.

This is a comfortable little apartment in Ibusuki. Walking distance to cafes and restaurants. Has a nice view is quiet and you can easily accommodate four people. We cooked there one night and it was great.

The owner runs the place alone, but he still went all the way to the airport to pick me up. Despite my very limited Japanese ability, we were able to communicate quite well.. But the most important thing was he helped me rent a small scooter that I surely would not be able to rent without a local person vouching for me. This made my Amami trip really unforgettable and I'm forever grateful for the help I have received here! Also the evening of tasting local shōchū and stargazing was amazing. I will be back!

Hands down the most original and unusual hotel we ´ve been in our lives! This former izakaya restaurant has been adapted into a ryokan hotel room as a single unit and the experience is simply spectacular! Very well located with good ramen restaurants nearby, not far away from Kagoshima and in a quiet neighborhood. Perfect for a group of 4 whether with family or friends.

Set just 1.2 km from Setta Beach, guesthouse minkä provides accommodation in Amami with access to a garden, a terrace, as well as a shared kitchen.

The room was very different to what I’m used to in western hotels, but it was very comfortable and I slept well on the futon. Everything was clean and attractive. The hosts are a lovely family. A short anecdote from my brief stay: As it was my first time in Japan, I asked for food recommendations and they told me about a nearby restaurant. I didn’t have enough cash but I elected to withdraw money from across the street. So I drove to the restaurant, made sure it was open and there was room for me and to my surprise I found out that I had a reservation! Kindly booked by my hosts. I then went to withdraw some cash but the ATM couldn’t recognise my card, so I went back to the restaurant with the plan to just eat lightly with the limited cash I had. Then, out of nowhere, my hosts appeared at the restaurant, somehow with the knowledge that I was struggling, and offered to cover the whole dinner for me! They are kind hearted people that will do their best to make sure you enjoy your stay. I’d highly recommend this guesthouse, more so than any other I’ve visited before.

A truly Japanese experience provided by Yuki in his home. Spotless place with all needed amenities including bonus of having a tap linked to the onsen source. Excellent tips and recommendations for things to do in the area and very convenient location in Kirishimam wish I could stay longer. Thank you Yuki.

This was the best place we have ever stayed. It was an authentic island homestay that made us feel like we belonged from the moment we got there. Facilities are great, location is good but the best part of this listing is the people. Dinners shared with the family will be the highlight of our time in Japan. Very sad to leave
