Loved the staff and the property - Shimpei and staff was superb, thoughtful, responsive, and just lovely. We learned so much about Lake Biwa’s local culture in such a short time thanks to Shimpei and Riyona (the resident artist)! We also loved the sauna and our room. Super cozy and also airy at the same time. Central location from train station (perfect walking distance), but quiet at the same time! Beautiful traditional neighbourhood. We also appreciated the property’s curation of local products such as the bancha tea sampler and sweet potato mochi. These little gestures/sharings really made an impression on us.

Lovely food, staff, baths, own private dining room, meticulous service and very clean area. I think it’s almost impossible to top in those regards. The room with its own hotspring was divine. The massage was excellent. Would recommend.

Everything was fine. Delicious Breakfast and the Club Lounge was excellent. The huge public bath was great for relaxing.
