Loved the staff and the property - Shimpei and staff was superb, thoughtful, responsive, and just lovely. We learned so much about Lake Biwa’s local culture in such a short time thanks to Shimpei and Riyona (the resident artist)! We also loved the sauna and our room. Super cozy and also airy at the same time. Central location from train station (perfect walking distance), but quiet at the same time! Beautiful traditional neighbourhood. We also appreciated the property’s curation of local products such as the bancha tea sampler and sweet potato mochi. These little gestures/sharings really made an impression on us.

We had a wonderful stay. Everything was spotless, we loved every single attentions. Hosts were amazing. It’s close to the city, there’s many restaurant around. The accommodation is not far from the lake. The place is peaceful between a garden and ricefields and if you’re lucky you can even spot fireflies 😉
