We had the most wonderful time with John, Véronique, Becky and John-Marc. They went out of their way to make it such a special holiday for us. My husband and I went there for one week and every day we discovered more of the island, the people and how they live. John can arrange every activity you want and we could decide that spontaneously in the morning. We went to the volcanoe, to the Yakel tribe, to a local english school, to the village nearby, to the local market and even cooked Simboro and Laplap with them. John also accompanied us on every trip and gave us additional informations and he even speaks the language clik, so he could also communicate with the people of the Yakel tribe. Every evening, after dinner, John made a fire at the nearby fireplace to enjoy the rest of the evening. When you want to see the real Tanna you definitely have to go to this place.

For reasonable rates, the hosts will take care of any other logistic you need. -Set up the 2 hour car ride to and from the airport. -Local recipe dinners by Susan and she’s a great cook. I believe they offered lunch as well but I was going on these great adventures they offer to guide you through: -A local village that will show you dances and rituals of their indigenous culture -A hot spring heated river that flows into the ocean overlooking the volcano -And of course, the hike to the rim of the volcano. I had so much time to chat with the family and they are all so kind. I don’t leave reviews, I was very compelled on this one. Stay in this treehouse.
