One of the best places I've stayed at during my travels through South America! This newish hostel is located just one block from the main plaza . It is super clean, comfortable, safe, and quiet. The owners are incredibly kind, helpful, and welcoming. Sometimes you will get a morning coffee and there's free fruit and tea. One of the best parts is the kitchen--it is the best stocked kitchen I've used in a hostel--stove, oven, toaster, and coffee maker and tons of pots and pans that are in good condition and plates, bowls, utensils to use. Everything works and it's just a pleasant place to make a meal. This place just feels like home. The hostel has both private rooms and dorm rooms. For those staying in the dorm rooms, you get a large towel and a face towel (unheard of in Latin America) and you don't need to pay extra. The private rooms do not have en-suite bathrooms. But there are plenty of bathrooms to use. They are clean, and the showers have good water pressure and consistent hot water. The location is another plus. There are plenty of restaurants and grocery stores within walking distance. If you are coming by bus, you could easily walk to the hostel from the station. It will be about a 20-minute walk (no hills). An Uber cost me about 2,500 pesos. I have stayed at two other places in Salta and Clivias Hostel is so much better than the other places I've stayed at.

Marcela and Julio provided me all the help I could have asked for. They catered for my requests, including letting me leave my suitcase in their care for a couple of days (not something one should expect for accommodation of this type). Both provided me recommendations for restaurants and activities. Julio even gave me a quick tour of the plaza as he dropped me off at the accommodation after picking me up at the airport (pickup is a paid extra). They do not comfortably speak English, but we made good use of technology to communicate.

The place is very close to the center, very clean, and the shower with massage a well deserved gift after a long journey. To say that the owner, Fabiana, is a sweet person, it's an understatement. She was the best host, helped us with everything we needed, including allowed us to check-out later, as I was working and needed to use the wifi. Not to mention the little Michelle Obama, a sweet princess, adorable. Wished we could have stayed longer in this lovely place. Def recommend

I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. The room was spotless, very spacious, and the bed ensured an excellent night’s sleep. What truly stood out for me was the warm and caring staff—from the moment I checked in until many hours after I had officially checked out, they made me feel completely at ease. Pablo, the hotel manager, together with his team, creates an atmosphere that feels like home. They treat you as if you were part of their family, always ready to help with anything you ask—and often going beyond expectations. I received assistance with local recommendations, travel logistics, and even small personal requests that made my stay smoother and more enjoyable. This combination of comfort, genuine hospitality, and thoughtful support makes the hotel a place I would gladly return to and encourage others to experience.
