Marcia is a very welcoming person and even for a non Portuguese speaking visitor we could communicate everything well. She even showed me a whole day Belém out of her view which was a very special experience, since she can talk you through every door. She also gives you privacy and is at the same time interested to get to know people with a coffee at the scenic balcony. Plus the dogs are very sweet too. My stay at Casa da Mata was incredible. I came as a solo female traveler and had a great time! The hosts were super helpful for arranging my transport, food, and different activities. It was great to learn about the local plants and animals and culture and get immersed in the experience. There are also several nice beaches nearby. Everything was perfect, I can't recommend the visit enough!
