Beautiful location right on the river, surrounded by nature and beautiful views, a retreat from the busy-ness of town. It is only a short motorbike ride into town, and you can walk ~10 mins to get to an alfamart/indomaret. I did 2 days jungle trekking with Andi who was a great guide. We saw lots of orangutans and other wildlife, and he shared a lot of great information about the jungle. I went with a group and he was very attentive with the guests and everyone's different needs and comfort levels with the hiking. Dika, Dedek, and the rest of the family were so friendly and happy to answer any questions or help with anything, and make an amazing breakfast which is included. Andi arranged a car to and from the airport. Wifi was functional most of the time, which was helpful because I spent a lot of time working remotely in the restaurant. Bed in my room was very firm and comfortable, which is important to note because some different guesthouses where I've stayed have had very squishy, sinking beds. Bathroom has good showerhead water pressure, a western style toilet, and bidet. They provide toilet paper if needed. Towels also provided. Screens on windows prevent mosquitos from getting inside, and there is a fan inside the room for when it gets hot. Overall, a beautiful place to stay and a family business that makes you feel like family. Highly recommend!

Spent my 27th birthday on this property and couldn't have found a better way to start the year. The beautiful clear water of the Toba had been tempting me from the day before and it was the first thing I did on the morning of my birthday. You can practically jump into the water from your room balcony (please don't. It's metamorphic and you'll die). But it was as stunning a view one can get, and the fact that this is so affordable makes it feel like a dream. Food was fantastic. I was traveling with my sister and she's vegetarian and so was the restaurant. Great dishes. Location top notch. You obviously need a scooter to get around and completely immerse yourself in the serene and breathtaking views of Toba. So yes, definitely get a scooter. Definitely stay here. And definitely eat at Jenny's, whcih is about 3km away. Ali and Katie (the owners) were super friendly and warm and welcoming and we've made friends for life. Can't wait to come back. (also, the pictures on booking.com don't truly reflect the actual size of thr room. It's MASSIVE. You actually get 2 full rooms, not 1. Pleasant pleasant surprise!)

Paco an Carlos are Fantastic guides and excellent people, although Paco sings terribly!!! ;) Special mention to the food; it's tasty and varied, with different homemade desserts every day. I will definitely be back!!!
