The rooms are massive by Japanese standards, it’s 2 minutes from the beach but still quiet and the facilities including private class are much higher quality than the cost of the stay would make you think. We had the tasting menu two nights in a row from the hotel restaurant and it was unbelievably reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. The second night the chef asked if we’d like anything different and also made a bespoke cake for my birthday with a birthday message written in chocolate sauce. Wee details like this are amazing! Staff are incredibly friendly. It’s a small, high class boutique hotel with an incredibly small fee for what you get. Go here.

Todo, el mejor y más cómodo lugar de 5 hoteles que estuvimos, sentimos que teníamos un departamento lujoso, cómodo, amplio y con un gimnasio lindo y restaurante. Gran experiencia, y con entrada al metro dentro del mismo lugar, ni siquiera hay que salir a la calle a tomar el metro. Zona preciosa y salir a correr era una maravilla en las mañanas junto a los jardines del palacio imperial.

So clean, they clean everyday and it’s always spotless. The host is so lovely. Her dog is so cute and friendly too! Sometimes he’ll greet you at the door, this meant so much to me especially when I was missing my dog at home. The neighborhood is AMAZING. I love Koenji so much. A perfect, calm getaway from the city with still plenty of things to do. Great restaurants, thrifting, karaoke, parks, and Japanese vibes. Also Nakano is a 20 min walk away and they have a mall with Uniqlo and everything else you’d need. It’s easy to meet other people and make friends! Women-only was awesome and made me feel really safe. I can’t wait to go back and spend my entire Japan trip here. I shouldn’t have bothered with any other hotels. Nothing compares to Grapehouse Koenji!
