The food was amazing, it was an experience on it's own. Be prepared to eat things that you wouldn't usually eat and have a real authentic Japanese experience. I looked forward to breakfast every day, the food was beautiful and presented beautifully. The owners are super helpful and the location to the ski lifts is superb. We hadn't done an Onsen yet until we stayed at Shiga Kogen, so it was baptism by fire as the shared bathrooms is the Onsen, but don't be put off, it's an amazing experience and the Onsen is great after a day on the slopes.

Located a 7-minute walk from Yudanaka Train Station, Hotel Housei offers free WiFi access, indoor/outdoor hot spring baths and air-conditioned Japanese-style rooms. Everything was good. I really liked the traditional Japanese dinner rand the experience at the Onsen.

Objekat Uotoshi Ryokan je smešten na sjajnoj lokaciji u gradu Jamanouči, i to u četvrti Yudanaka Onsen, na 4,4 km od znamenitosti Park snežnih majmuna Jigokudani, 10 km od znamenitosti Ryuoo Ski Park... The man running the Ryokan is incredibly kind, caring, welcoming, and friendly. I genuinely felt like I was at home. The Ryokan has a lovely homey atmosphere, and the bathhouse was really nice! The breakfast was delicious! He also offered to drive us to the snow monkeys, which was very kind of him and greatly appreciated. I loved my stay and would 100% stay here again!!

Proprietors were so welcoming and accommodating for our every need. Amenities (shared and private onsen) were beautiful, and I enjoyed them every day of our stay! We were gifted some delicious manju at checkout--it really made our stay! Can't wait to come back and stay again!

We had the most exceptional experience at Shiga No Yu - their staff was incredibly accommodating despite our poor Japanese and they provided a clean onsen, warm and cosy accommodation and most importantly the most amazing meals for breakfast and dinner every day! If you are looking for a traditional experience right outside a chairlift, this is the place to be!
