The owner and the staff were very attentive and always went out of their way to help us throughout our stay. The room that we booked was spacious for 4 people. We enjoyed the public bath experience and onsen. The meals were lovely, especially dinner was generous and delicious which amazingly was another thing we actually looked forward to apart from the hotbath after a long day out skiing. We would definitely book here again!

Located a 7-minute walk from Yudanaka Train Station, Hotel Housei offers free WiFi access, indoor/outdoor hot spring baths and air-conditioned Japanese-style rooms. The staff in Hotel Housei was very warm and hospitable. They were always smiling and generally made us feel very welcomed. The roundtrip free shuttle to the Snow Monkey Park was really very helpful as we were able to keep our luggage at the reception and hike up the park at ease. The best part was the hotel also provided the shuttle to the station after we were back from the Snow Monkey Park. Very thoughtful and we were very appreciative of the great service provided.

The owner is so kind, so helpful and so worried about us. She’s really amazing made us feel in home and made our stay perfect! The property is near the station so is 30 minutes walking until the Onsen village but she arrange us free shuttle to the village and to the snow monkey mountain which was so nice!

We had the most exceptional experience at Shiga No Yu - their staff was incredibly accommodating despite our poor Japanese and they provided a clean onsen, warm and cosy accommodation and most importantly the most amazing meals for breakfast and dinner every day! If you are looking for a traditional experience right outside a chairlift, this is the place to be!
