This was such a nice surprise. The hotel was beautiful and very comfortable. It is on the university of Maine campus. It is about a mile or 2 to restaurants and a little further to the oreno boardwalk. So happy we stayed here and highly recommend it.

We had supper at 555 and it was top shelf. We had the chef’s selection and left the choices to our wait staff with the choices. She did an amazing job as every bite was delicious! And the wine as well as was paired so well.

Wonderful small bungalows, well maintained and cosy. Althoug, quite compact, a family of four has all they need. On site all is provided for Bbq including fuel. Outdoor games and the ground are superby kept by the team.

The Francis Hotel, a historic landmark, is situated in Portland's Bramhall neighborhood, near Art District. Free WiFi is provided throughout the property. Located on the second floor. This was my first stay at The Francis and I'd not hesitate to rebook on my next visit to Portland. A beautiful historical house with clean, wonderful rooms. Friendly, helpful reception staff, parking included, great amenities and conveniently located (10 min walk to waterfront).

The rooftop seating gives a great view and place to rest for all guests. Lots of free parking around. The staff were lovely and made sure we enjoyed our stay. Love the fact the hotel belongs to a family with a great back story too. The staff spoke warmly of the owners which is always good to hear.
