Hotels with Pools in Tanques

We specifically searched for a hotel where we wouldn’t feel like just another guest in mass tourism or in one of those huge, impersonal resorts and this place exceeded all our expectations. We travelled during the low season, so it was generally very peaceful, but I’m convinced that even when the hotel is fully booked, you would still have plenty of privacy and be able to fully enjoy the surrounding nature. We stayed in the Dome, and it was absolutely beautiful. The room was spotless, very tastefully furnished, and the panoramic view was perfectly positioned so we could watch the sunset directly from our bed every evening. The whole property is stunning. It’s a ranch surrounded by nature, with horses and the sweetest dogs imaginable. Watching the horses graze while listening to nature around us was pure relaxation. The owner, Jorge, personally welcomed us on our first day. He is incredibly kind and gave us many great tips for activities and for Costa Rica in general. Throughout our stay, he was always available via WhatsApp whenever we needed anything. We had dinner at the hotel every evening because it was simply too beautiful and cozy to want to eat anywhere else. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was incredibly idyllic. The pool area was also fantastic: one pool to cool down in and another warm relaxation pool with bubble jets. Since the entire property is immersed in nature, we constantly saw beautiful birds and wildlife around us. Overall, this was one of the most relaxing places during our entire Costa Rica trip. The staff, especially Jorge, were unbelievably friendly and helpful. We truly felt welcomed and cared for throughout our stay. We would absolutely come back.

Francisco and his wife Veronica are the most wonderful hosts. From the start, we felt incredibly welcomed and were treated like honoured guests. The breakfasts were fantastic and the freshly squeezed juice was the best we have had. The place is quite rustic and the pool is a natural pool (which we did not use as the weather was quite windy and cool when we were there). There are some small trails on the property where we saw lots of interesting wildlife and birds, including toucans and hummingbirds. A short distance up the road is an entrance to the national park where we were able to walk several times . We had access to two small kitchens and a full size fridge and there is a lovely lodge about 5 minutes down the road where we ate dinner two nights (Rinconcito Lodge).

What a beautiful property. The gardens, pool are were delightful. All updated and well maintained. The food was delicious. Love the service, the beautiful plates and touches. The birds and wildlife wonderful.

We just got back from staying at the tented sites with your own private plunge pool. It was awesome. The room, the grounds, the main pool area. The staff were great, so friendly always waving or saying hi. Close access to hot springs and the park. We got a car, easy drive from airport.

We had a great stay. The rooms are basic but nicely updated, very comfortable, and absolutely spotless. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay. The included breakfast was delicious and a great way to start the day. The pool was fantastic, and the whole property has a relaxed, low-key vibe that's perfect after a day of exploring. We also appreciated the shared kitchen with a fridge and microwave, which made it easy to prepare simple meals and snacks. I'd definitely stay here again.

The bungalows are very private. There are multiple hot spring pools on the site with a view of the Miravalles volcano, it's absolutely gorgeous and relaxing! The restaurant on site is cheap and really good, and the staff is really kind!

Great location and beautiful landscaping. Thermal pools and mud treatments were great.

Nice vacation home to get away from it all, very secure gated property. Kitchen to cook instead of eating out and a pool to cool down on a hot day.

Our visit to this lodge was unforgettable!The rooms and all the property have a very special charm:) Everything was clean and very much thought about. We enjoyed the pool. The breakfast was amazing and plenty, they cooked eggs from their own chickens! Owners' hospitality was exceptional, it was pleasure to meet such a wonderful couple! We hike the trails and visited hot springs pool nearby. Highly recommend this place for families and couples, you will not regret:)

This was by far our favourite place in Costa Rica. They have everything you could want all on site - zip lining, horse riding, hot springs, waterfalls - and much quieter than the usual tourist hot-spots. Staff were super friendly and helpful, food excellent and good value. Our room was quiet and comfortable- perfect for watching all of the wildlife that roam around the grounds. And the view from the restaurant is stunning!
