The property overall is huge, beautiful and very idillic, great for relaxing - but also as a base to explore the surrounding area (we visited Évora, Estremoz, Monsarraz and crossed over to Badajoz in Spain). The house where we stayed was rustic and authentic, but comfortable and well functioning. The dogs are huge but very friendly, and the property keepers are friendly and helpful, bringing fresh bread every morning. The host was proactive and easily available.

The property is located in the middle of nature and it’s perfect for those willing to spend some time in a quite place. The hosts (Tiago and Petra and their 3 lovely dogs) are really nice and we really felt at home. The breakfast is served in the garden with and really exceeded our expectations. No doubts a place to come back.

Paul is a wonderful host. He called to confirm our arrival time and was there to meet us when we arrived. His property is spectacular -- we had an entire guest house to ourselves in the middle of a sprawling cork forest in the Alentejo. We woke each morning to a view of the sunrise, enjoyed our morning coffee on a spacious patio, and watched the sunset and stars each night. Paul's three dogs were friendly and good company -- especially his border collie pup! Paul made us feel at home, making reservations for us for lunch at a nearby restaurant and for a cork safari tour operated by his brother. The facilities were great -- fully stocked and spacious kitchenette with hotplates, microwave, mini-oven, coffee maker and kettle and all the kitchenware we needed; large living/dining room with fireplace; large bedroom with a comfy bed and lots of surfaces to spread out; and two bathrooms with hot water and great pressure. The whole house has excellent radiator heating. When we asked if they happened to have a hypoallergenic pillow or blanket we could use, they found both and changed the bedding while we were out for dinner and offered us a HEPA room filter as well. We couldn't have asked for a more peaceful, relaxing, joyous time away!

The place was lovely and inviting. The hosts greeted us when we came in and made sure everything was according to what we needed. The house is well equipped, especially the kitchen. Nothing was missing. The outside was a dream for our boys: pool, basketball, football, trampoline, archery. We will certainly come again and recommend to our friends

This place is an oasis in the middle of the Alentejo hills. The atmosphere is very relaxed, specially in the swimming pools, given that there is one for adults and kids and another one for adults only: calm guaranteed. In the evening, the whole convent corridors, decorated with an stunning and unique collection of tiles, is lighted up with old oil lamps, which gives the building a fantastic atmosphere. The food services are very good, tasteful and most importantly: local. Besides, the convent has different hiking trails that you can take to discover more about the history and environment surrounding the area. It is a place for those who treasure calm, art, nature and good food. Would absolutely come back!
