After having been at Quinta de Alfaval a couple of years ago, we decided to return this here for a few days to rest and enjoy nature and all the things for kids to play available at the farm. Besides this, we've also been able to appreciate the great gastronomy from Alentejo, recommended by the hosts! Speaking about the hosts, so welcoming, always available and doing everything to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. It won't be the last time we visit Quinta do Alfaval, it's going to keep bookmarked to a future family vacation for sure.

The owner's availability and kindness are noteworthy. I enjoyed the quietness and privacy provided by the Villa we stayed in. Lots of space for kids to wander around, swim, play and ride bikes worry free. Being able to dine outside and make your own bbq is also quite enjoyable. It's a good option for resting with kids, very close to the nearby village where you can stock. Wifi in the common areas is quite capable, handling streaming without hiccups. Late afternoons are most enjoyable outside surrounded by trees and... silence. The night sky is awesome, as there is little light pollution. Coming back to the owner, his passion about the place shows, and good conversations (in a non-intrusive way) are guaranteed. The photos are accurate, therefore know what you're getting, and try it out.

The hotel is a perfect location for exploring the upper part of the Alentejo region, whether for one night or ideally for several. The setting is spectacular and the hotel facilities do not disappoint. We stayed in one of the suites in the annex, which sounds like a lesser location but was excellent. Dinner in the restaurant is definitely worth booking - we had garlic prawns, garoupa, rack of lamb and a home made sweet plus some local wine. All of them were excellent, as was the service from Fernando. Check-in and checkout were easy and José on reception on both occasions was very professional and friendly, with some great advice on local wineries to visit together with some wider information on the Alentejo region. He was a great advocate for the hotel and the region as a whole. 🙌🙌🙌

Our stay was relaxing after many days of driving and sightseeing. This is a real spa destination where you are greeted with very friendly staff, especially in the dining rooms.

Lovely newer property. Lots of attention to detail. We had a well-supplied 2bed 2 bath apartment that was ideal for 2 couples or a small family. Excellent beds. Very nice common areas inside & outdoors. Good breakfast. Charming & attentive staff. Quiet location. Easy to find. Good authentic restaurant right across the street.

Casinhas do Canário enjoys a location in Montoito, 18 miles from Monsaraz Castle and 22 miles from Cathedral of Evora Se.

The hotel was in a great location. The front desk was great. If you need good internet this can be a problem. They gave me an extender which worked well. Highly recommend this property.
