La Capeline fulfilled this requirement and more. Everyone here from personnel to residents are welcoming and friendly despite our extremely limited French language skills. Lovely amenities and a dream to be able to swim in a super clean, quiet, swimming pool. If you're looking for a good base to explore Dunkirk away from the busy centre La Capeline is perfect. Secure designated parking and Lidl store opposite to make life even easier. Would recommend Domitys to anyone looking for self contained accommodation in a nice safe, quiet environment. Philippe welcomed us personally and showed us around. The pool is lovely just a shame it was a little windy! The beds were very comfortable and shutters meant a good night’s sleep. All guests had use of a kitchen and lounge area.

The owners and their staff were super friendly and helpful. The hotel is a lovely building and our room was very comfortable. The hotel will be even better in the near future when work on a pool in the grounds is completed. We had dinner in the restaurant which was excellent, as was the inclusive breakfast. Log fire in the restaurant gave a cosy ambiance.
