Everything, especially the isolation . This place is perfect for people like our family, who feel overwhelmed with Tokyo busyness after a few days. It was so nice and relaxing, the onsen was one of the best experiences of my life.

Very traditional food, maybe not catered to western tastes, but large servings and made with care. The staff were fantastic, even when we committed cultural faux pas, helping us with a smile. Onsen was a good temperature, outdoor bath was delightful. The view from our room was great. It’s not far to walk to the entire town. The hotel does a free shuttle to the bus station.
