We had a wonderful stay just outside Kisumu. Quiet, but still close to town. The hotel is partly still built, but we didn't see or hear any constructing. The pool is magnificent and the staff is the best you could wish for. Breakfast is a delight. We really felt like a couple of days relaxing holiday here. The hotel is surrounded by a solid wall and has 24 hour security on duty. The road to the hotel is still quite bumpy, but 2WDs and taxis go there without a problem. The room was spacious, clean and pleasant. Excellent bed and shower.

Offering a sun terrace with outdoor pool, Sovereign Hotel is located in Kisumu. The hotel is close to Lake Victoria and 700 metres away from the Kenya Wildlife Impala Park. Best hotel we stayed in for the last two years in western Kenya. Good quiet location, very clean and huge rooms (even a big bathtub) and excellent hot showers. Great coffee at breakfast and very pretty property with character. Will definitely be back, wish we had stayed here sooner!!
